Well if he'd received a 3 match ban he would have missed Chelsea away, Liverpool away and more than likely Arsenal in the Cup.

All games that could have a major impact on United's season, the FA can't have Rooney missing them can they.

i'm surprised the FA haven't charged mccarthy for headbutting rooney's elbow  :?

what little credibility the FA had left has been shot to pieces.
it also further enhances the notion that manure & fergie have a certain influence over the FA, there's no other explanation :?

can battenburg honestly say had he seen the incident from the tv angles he wouldn't have sent him off??
if so, he's as bent as the FA :|

If Clattenburg would have admitted, with hindsight, that he had made a mistake then the FA would have been able to charge Rooney but he didnt.
Remember a few years back when Ben Thatcher smashed his elbow into Pedro Mendes face ? The referee,Dermot Gallagher, admitted his mistake and Thatcher was charged......received about an 8 game ban if I remember ?
But FIFA werent happy about Gallaghers original decision being overturned.....

You must all remember that this is FIFAS doing, not the FA.
Although I must admit that the FA are a bunch of corrupt To**ers I think there hands are tied regarding the Referees taking action on the pitch already with incidents like this.
Gerrard got away with it and now Rooney and I'm sure many have previously but we only hear about the high profile players doing it.
I bet this happens in the lower divisions every season.
The only things I regret are the things I didn't do

Yeeessssssssssssssss!!!!

Maybe too late, but we're heading in the right direction (again)!

Alex will be upset. Luis is incredible, needs to put away those S. American habits though!

United lost.
Everton went out of the Cup.
Vidic sent off and banned for Anfield.

All good!

Agree on Luiz, he looks a great buy.

All of which is true but things generally even themselves out over a season so you just have to get on with it !
Incidentally the 4th time Vidic has been sent off playing against Torres....some sort of record ??

Up and down.... up and down.

One minute I think spurs have got a fighting chance at that Champions League spot, the next....

Chelsea, after the win against United will come on strong now. United have to slip a hell of a lot to give way to spurs.... Arse and City?

Our 'arry has already said how it will be nothing short of miraculous if spurs were to get a top 4 spot after teams being strengthened during the transfer window - Spurs didn't get anyone significant. We had a hell of a good run at the back end of the season last year so let's hope lightning strikes twice.
If it's within arms reach, there's nothing to worry about!!

United shouldn't be getting any decisions for the foreseeable future then.

Oh the joy of watching Ferguson`s outrage and reaction to decisions going against him.

People go on about Howard Webb but the last two times I've seen Martin Atkinson referee a United match I've thought Rowan Atkinson (Mr.Bean) could have done a better job ! 8)

personally i don't think any of the current premier league refs are all that good :| & as for the assistants
mistakes will always be made & there will always be contentious decisions.
the current lot seem to be making more than their fair share though :?

i see fergie is up in front of the FA again on thursday to explain his outburst.

i expect the FA will be up in front of fergie & the manure board on friday to explain their outburst

They're the same thing aren't they?

David A. Gill, currently Chief Executive of Manchester United F.C. and a board member of The Football Association.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Gill_(executive)

Questions were raised by then Liverpool manager Rafael Benítez about a potential conflict of interest between Gill's roles with Manchester United and the FA. However, Gill dismissed the Spaniard's concerns, saying that he had been elected by the other Premier League chief executives.

Quite an interesting Q&A interview with Jamie Carragher HERE

A bit about Chelsea, Arsenal, United and his favourite players and stuff. Carra is apparently the font of all knowledge on Football, the guy you'd want in your team in a Footie pub quiz.
When people talk about Liverpool not winning it in my time, it's important to point this out: we have been competing against the best-ever Manchester United with their best-ever manager. The bestever Chelsea with their best-ever manager and the best-ever Arsenal with their bestever manager.

I have been competing against the best those teams have ever had; they haven't been competing against Liverpool's best. There was a stage when Rafa was manager that we were in the top four or five teams in Europe. The only problem was that three were in the Premier League.
