Premier League 2010-2011
Re: Premier League 2010-2011
I hope I don`t come to regret this:
Harry Rednap was detained by the police for four hours after reports that eleven donkeys were severely beaten in Blackpool this week.

Re: Premier League 2010-2011
On Thursday night Jamie Carragher broke the record for the most appearances in Europe by a British player.
(He's played twice as many European games as Everton Football Club
)
Quite impressive considering the age of Scholes and Giggs and who they play for.
Great career for a somewhat limited player, made up for it in other areas though.
Well done Carra!

Re: Premier League 2010-2011
So how many of those were in the champions league?? How many games have scholes and giggs played in the europa or uefa cup??? Just to put it on a level playing field if we're doing comparisons??(not that champions league and the europa are any sort of comparison) Wasn't it only last year you hoped your team got knocked out of the competition(uefa) but now its ok to sing the praises of someone who played in it?????
He's played twice as many games as Everton in europe but where does he stand in these statistics with the big four????

Other areas being the capacity to kick the opposition all over the park.

Don't know or care, it was actually a backhanded compliment to them both.bubbly wrote:How many games have scholes and giggs played in the europa or uefa cup?
No praises were sung, I was just posting what happened to be news in the world of Football.bubbly wrote:Wasn't it only last year you hoped your team got knocked out of the competition(uefa) but now its ok to sing the praises of someone who played in it?????
Are you really asking me how Jamie Carraghers number of appearances in Europe compares to Manchester United? It was a lighthearted dig at our neighbours, not a pissing competition.bubbly wrote:He's played twice as many games as Everton in europe but where does he stand in these statistics with the big four????
And who are the BIG SKY 4 this week?

I wouldn't class Carra as a dirty player. Some of Arsenals great centrebacks were hardly shrinking violets either.Arcadian wrote:[quote="BaaBaaGreat career for a somewhat limited player, made up for it in other areas though.

i think he's been a consistent, quality defender throughout his career.
the type of defender/leader every team needs

wish we still had a bould, adams or keown in the team nowSome of Arsenals great centrebacks were hardly shrinking violets either.

Yes, Carragher was up there with anybody in Europe for a few years during the middle of Rafas time in charge, he ain't no Maldini or Baresi but as a backs to the wall last ditch defender he's had some unbelievable performances.
Imagine Arsenals old backline behind your current midfield and forwards!

Nice to see that Rooney can still do whatever the hell he wants on a football pitch, apart from play football that is, possibly the most overrated player in the world.
I'm sick to death of Yernited playing by a different set of rules, and it's a weekly occurrence.

Did the ref see it and not think it was worthy of a card? If not the cameras picked it up and a ban should be applied. Don`t hold your breath though.BaaBaa. wrote:Nice to see that Rooney can still do whatever the hell he wants on a football pitch, apart from play football that is, possibly the most overrated player in the world.

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney will face no action from the Football Association after he appeared to elbow Wigan midfielder James McCarthy.
Clattenburg told the FA on Monday that he felt he took the appropriate action, which means the governing body cannot launch disciplinary proceedings against the 25-year-old England forward.
The rules do not allow retrospective action against a player if the official sees the alleged offence.

Ridiculous but predictable.

Liverpool crash to West ham
.
What the f*** happened there, they (West Ham BTW
) are relegation stuff or did they just have what alcohics call "a moment of clarity" and reacted, rather like Birmingham City against Arsenal in the Mickey Mouse Cup.
