Let us not forget Steptoe and son, Hancocks half hour and of course those bumbling, khaki clad, protectors of good old England in Dads army. Classics IMHO, as are many of those listed in the thread.

There are not many present day sitcoms that can match the oldies for staying power.

Mr O' Reilly may have said "I loike a woman with spirit" but he then went on to be twatted by Mrs Fawlty and a large umbrella. Any sane, married man, would have seen the red mist rising and vacated the premises, post haste. :wink:

When around she who must be obeyed and out of fear for my life, I keep such thoughts to myself. Or at the very least, mutter them quietly in another room. :oops:
