I went to visit a friend today in the emergency ward and was very impressed particularly the friendly staff

Quite funny really. I was limping (stroke injury) up to the entrance and they rushed out thinking I was going to check myself in. we all had a good laugh about it

I am in Hua Hin for a couple of days. The Outpatient Clinic construction is going well and should be ready for opening in about 2 weeks from now.
We will be starting the Health Check-up program from Jan 10th. In order to encorage participatin there will be a discounted fee for the first 6 weeks.

Just a little advice. I was in the Emergency room this morning at 10.30am and it was very busy and the waiting time was longer than we would like,whereas at the moment, at 2.45 pm it is very quiet and patients are being seen as soon as they arrive. If you are a real Emergency then you must come as soon as possible, but if you have had a problem fora few days and any time of day is fine I would suggest that you come in the afternoon.

TELE-CONFERENCING

One service that is working well is tele conferencing. I saw two examples this week.
A two way video was set up, a patient and doctor in HH at this end and a Dr in Bangkok at the other. One patient had a skin problem and the camera was directed at the affected area, the picture was magnified and really was better than that seen with the naked eye. The Dermatologist saw the area, diagnoses and prescribed treatment.
In the second case a patient who had had surgery in BKK met by video her Dr and showed how the wound was healing and demonstrated the movements possible in her hand which had been operated on.
This is not suitable for all situations but will mean that some patients can have a Bangkok consultation in Hua Hin.

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of being treated by Dr. Booranit Chua-in. I went from a weeklong stomach bug, to inflamed tonsils the second week, and back to a stomach problems, after going twice to San Paulo to no avail, someone recommended Bangkok Hospital. I didn't think it an emergency but I went being tired of being sick. Everyone was friendly, the Doctor superb,with great answers to all my questions. After getting an antibiotic delivered by IV I was feeling better the next day, a few days into antibiotics I was back to 100%. will definatley be going back anytime I feel bad, way better than San Paolo down the road

I have been to this new hospital twice this week.
One day I followed an old man as translater since
he didnt speak any Thai or English.
Today I had to bring in my mother who has been
feeling sick for a while. We came around 10.15 and
met nurses and a doctor at once. They did a good
job, diagnosed her with pneumonia with Xrays etc.
She has not been well for some time and was very
anxious. But she was really relaxed here. The staff was
so friendly and they all had a good laugh, my mother too.
Take good care of the staff - all of them.

That is good to hear Amarita. The hospital is much busier than we thought it would be in the first few weeks and our staff have been swamped. New Drs and Nurses are now in place and the waiting times should be decreased.

I had a follow up visit today to the visiting cardiologist, Dr. Prachuep. Once again I was very impressed with the efficiency, politeness and professionalism of everybody with whom I had contact.

The new outpatients area is now open and the waiting has been minimised.
