Usual -

I believe I've bought them retail for anywhere from 320-600 baht a box of 100. We're getting them wholesale from my wife's cousin now for about 140 or 160.....lots of other stuff included in the bill so we never know exactly.

On a further note we were just at the wet market in Cha Am and I hopped over to the new pharmacy down the street to find some Ibuprofen........surprise, surprise.....they have 200,400 and 600 mg doses 10 pack pangs for only 20 baht a pang....under the brand name Buflex. Mfg is Burapha Dispensary Co., Ltd.

Thanks for all the replies and other suggestions, thanks Dr Mike. As for bringing 6 months supply of patches with me im not sure this is an option as it would be an immigration offence to enter the country carrying them, even with documentation. I can make do with Tramadol and a muscle relaxant like clonazepam or valium. so would someone be kind enough to wrap up in a nutshell the cheapest place in or around Hua Hin to purchase tramadol and would i need a script for say 400mg a day usage?

cheers

well thanks to everyone for their help, my doctor has given me 3 months supply of fentanyl and also prescribed me an anti depressant pristiq, however i must ween off the pristiq or reduce the dose before switching to tramadol as it can have an adverse reaction in some people, so i am pretty well covered for 3 monnths, should give me time to find alternatives, I have heard the pranburi military hospital is quite good, so either that or the govt hospital in HH might provide me with some solution, failing that i did find relief from 4-600mg a day of tramadol combined with a clonazepam or valium type drug, which i have found freely available on previous visits. Cheers only 5 days and i shall be living my dream with my new lady. If you would like to support her she has a crochet stall at cicada market, very fine handmade products :-) (sorry about the gratuitous free plug)

Just to bring you all up to date and in case anyone else finds themselves in a similar situation.tried the Hua Hin Hospital on a recco from a doctor, nothing there, they refered me to Siriraj hospital in Bkk who were most definitely supposed to be able to help me. Anyway after a whole afternoon of moving from one dept to another i finally met with a doctor, who told me Durogesic( fentanyl) atches were no longer available in Thailand. He was the smarmiest little upstart i have ever had the displeasure of having a consult with. He told me i was welcome to come along to the morning pain management clinic, but wouldnt elaborate exactly what this involved,so i could assess whether it was worth the o/nighter in Bkk + cost of mini van+ attendance fee. and if it would just involve what i had been doing for the last 3 years in Australia with no results or the program i have myself on in Hua Hin involving massage bi/weekly and gentle swimming, meditation and walking. So i left there most frustrated as he threw my Durogesic box onto the floor, ( who says calmatives dont work). So now i have emailed Bangkok hospital and Bumrungrad to see if i get any better result from them....will keep you u to speed.

update,Bumrungrad pain management Doctor that i saw, very understanding compassionate lady very knowledgable on fibromyalgia, changed my medication routine,to include Lyrica Fentantyl, rivotril and zolpiderm. She has changed my life.
Now i am reluctant to point my finger at what has worked because i also take about 15 supplements some of which i introduced around the same time but i do believe the Lyrica has made the difference,i have already dropped my durogesic by 1 strength. The only bummer is the fact i was in a car accident and broke both my legs 8 weeks ago and have been on a lot of meds from the hospital but as i am weaning of those i feel the benefits of what i believe is the Lyrica so i am happy and looking forward to dropping another strength on the durogesic (which the cost of will turn your hair grey, over 7000 baht pm) so i am hoping to be off them soon, anyway cheers and good health to you all.9 oh if you do need Lyrica for pain ,internet shop because the cost in thailand is 1200 baht per pang.
