DHL Delivery?

Post by dotx »

I'm expecting a DHL delivery that was supposed to get here on Friday. It's Monday today and nothing. There's no DHL office in Hua Hin so I have no idea who to call to check on the package. There haven't been any updates on the website (when I check with my tracking number) since Friday morning, so no help there.

Yes, most things are closed today. As Little Orphan Annie always said: Tomorrow, Tomorrow, Tomorrow.

There IS a DHL office in Hua Hin

It is on Petchkasem, just South of the main town centre traffic lights on the LHS (Heading North) - almost opposite Bank of Ayudha. It was the subject of another thread some weeks ago.

Mrs.T successfully sent me some important documents from there to here in smelly Delhi -three weeks ago.

Package journey time 3 working days. :thumb:

I drove by the office and it seems a "general" place (a place that could carry anything from DHL to FedEx to UPS). It was closed today, so I'll stop by tomorrow to ask if they know anything.

I also called DHL in Bangkok (thanks Steve) and the girl told me the package was going to be delivered this afternoon. Then I called again 30 minutes later to ask for a local phone number and the second girl told me they wouldn't be delivering today, MAYBE tomorrow, and then gave me another phone number (that I couldn't really understand what was it for). So I'm calling EVERYBODY tomorrow to see if I can locate the damn package.

You may well be correct - i.e. it's probably an agents office.

However Mrs. T definitely used DHL (I still have the envelope here) - but it does explain why the 'Shipper's' details are ........CITY LINK INTERNATIONAL with a Klongtoey address in Bangkok.

Anyway - it worked for us - no problem

Good luck tomorrow.

I have used DHL and they have always delivered on time. They nearly always ring me to find out where my house is first though.
I have always had a tracking number and been able to 'see' my parcel online.
The local office is in Bangkok as others have said the shop in Hua Hin is just an agent.

I've received a lot from DHL and my experience is that they don't deliver on a Sunday or holiday. Apple ships all their products with DHL to Thailand from Singapore and China. I got stuck last Songkran period where the items went out, and then back into their depot as too late in the day to make it, then sat for 3 days over the holiday, finally arriving the first working day after the holiday. The office opposite Bank of Ayudha is permanently closed. Went there today and they have a sign on the door saying their office is now at the airport (how's that for inconvenient?).

Both the driver and the Hua Hin office that handles DHL deliveries called me. Neither one spoke a word of English. I ended up going to school so my teacher could call these people back and explain how to get to my house. Shouldn't a place like that have at least one employee that speaks English? I'm sure they handle lots of international deliveries.

In any case, I got my package so all is well!

Luck you got your package from an actual DHL employee... I sent a Thai bank book from Canada to Hua Hin a couple of years ago. It cost me $95 Canadian (about 2800 baht at the time) It took over a week to get to my wife, on a promised 3 day delivery. I traced it, and knew it was in Hua Hin, but it never arrived in the specified period. Eventually it was delivered by the regular Thai post office!!!!! :guns: :guns: :banghead: I went back to the office in Victoria B.C.and lodged a complaint, to no avail, not even interested. I launched a 'smear' campaign on an internet website that contained many other serious complaints about poor service from DHL. Needless to say I have never used them again, nor will I.

if you google "DHL poor service complaints" you will be amazed.... :guns: :guns:

Not 100% sure but I think it's the name for the express service provided by Thailand's postal service.

It is and like other such services you can track whatever you send. Have used it several times and nothing has ever gone missing.
