Gardening tips and shade trees
Can anyone reccommend a good garden center and some hardy tree types, we're building our own place here and would like to get some greenery in the ground during the wet season.

OscarMike,
If you are after hardy trees for your particular area take note what's growing around your distict on vacant lots or road verges as that's where the tough one's will hang out.The locals should be able to tell you what species they are and you will get a fair idea as to the size and form the trees could take.
One of my favorite feature trees is the "Tipuana Tipu" or" Pride of Bolivia" which you can find growing around Hua Hin.It is tough, fast growing and ornate with great yellow flowers and looks very tropical.

Complexity is so simply overrated

OscarMike,
Sorry I forgot to mention that there are a bunch of plant nurseries located together on the western Hua Hin bypass.Heading north go past the turn off to the Loong Por Tuart temple and keep a look out on the left hand side before you get to Sam Phraya . Some of the sellers had some pretty advanced trees and were offering to deliver too.
