Hotel Recommendation Please

Post by Irishfella »

Hello there. This is my first post on this forum. It seems very informative.

I am planning on going to Hua Hin for two or three nights next month with my Thai GF. Neither of us have been to Hau Hin before. I would greatly appreciate recommendations for hotels. We would like something modern, not to far from the nightlife or beach (if that's possible), preferably have Internet in room and a bath, but not essential. Cleanliness is a must. As this is my third trip this year I am pretty low on funds so I would like to pay as little as possible and no more than 1500 bhat/£30. But I could stretch this for a very special deal.

Is this possible as hotels seemed pretty expensive when I looked on Agoda.

Also are there any gyms you can recommend.

After Hua Hin we will travel to Samui by bus and boat. However I have no idea how to go about this. Again any recommendations on travel will also be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance for your replies.

I live here so don't use hotels. I can't answer your hotel question, though I use Agoda when I travel to other Thai destinations and they usually have the best prices.

As for gyms, see this thread: http://www.huahinafterdark.com/forum/vi ... ms#p177932

I haven't traveled that way from Hua Hin to Samui either but I believe it can be done by taking a bus south about two hours to Chumphon and then a ferry from there to Samui.
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

HHAD's own booking system offers some competitive rates at all of the major hotels in Hua Hin: http://www.huahinafterdark.com/hua-hin- ... okings.php

Going from Hua Hin to Samui you can book bus and ferry with Lompraya: http://www.lomprayah.com/E/

Get the ticket at any travel agency in Hua Hin about 2 days before.

If you're on a tight budget, there are a few guest houses amongst our sponsors who have a very good name, ans are not expensive - certainly worth an enquiry.

First you should check out the map on HHAD and see the locations of the hotels. You can check TripAdvisor.com for the hotel reviews after that. I have been checking certain hotel prices on 10 different travel sites every day for two weeks now and it seems Agoda has the best prices, but some hotels guarantee the best price so you should check the individual hotel sites too.
