What's For The Kid's in HH?

Post by pharvey »

My wife and I have been coming to HH for the past couple of years now, in the past I've worked in Thailand for several years and have enjoyed visits to HH myself..... What I'm saying, is that coming to HH minus the ''Long Haired General'', I would tend to go downtown more often and occassionally hit the bars (please note, NOT the ladies of the night)..... with my wife, the holiday would be somewhat different (although no less enjoyable) in that we would do a little more of the sightseeing and exploring of Thailand and HH rather than alcohol research!!

I now feel that although I must bow to the superior knowlege of most posters here  , I know enough of the area to have a good time and to advise others in a similar position  ........... My problem however (and appologies for taking so long to getting to it.... I'm Welsh) is that my brother and his wife are taking advantage of our property in HH...... and are bringing KIDS!!!

Nephew aged 5, niece aged 3....

The question therefore.......... what is good for kids in or around HH???? Or, what should be avoided (apart from the obvious)? :tsk:

Have a look at http://www.huahincruises.com/

I believe the proprietor is a Hhadian (Barrys), and can probably advise you on suitability given the age of the kids.

Go karting

Never too young to learn and you might have a potential Hamilton/Button on your hands. I presume Dad would have to drive but the kids may get the buzz

As Kork advises, I'd highly recommend one of Barry's trips up the river in the Kingfisher. A lovely way to spend the day looking at the flora and fauna of Thailand.

The nice thing about it is that you have the boat to yourselves - with the benefit of the hugely able guide Abel. Lots to see, a lovely lunch and a super-relaxing day. We took our friends on a trip, and they said it was the highlight of their holiday.

I'm sure it was VS, but I'm not sure a 3 year old and a 5 year old would be too interested in taking in all the fauna and flora....lol.

OP...... at that age they're still quite easy to keep amused, and if you have a pool, or access to a pool, you'll more than likely find it's all they need. If not, there are plenty of other things they can do in order keep busy. I think it gets more difficult when the kids are slightly older.

BTW, my little ones are also 3 and 5 and they seem to keep themselves amused endlessly simply by arguing and fighting over anything and everything... :banghead:
