Reduced Transfer Tax extended again, a bit ...

Post by Super Joe »

The discounted property transfer tax rate of 0.01% has just been extended further to 31st May 2010, when it will then revert back to it's normal rate of 2%. The government previously announced it would end on 28th March 2010.

According the report in the BK Post the discounted Specific Business Tax (SBT) rate (if applicable to the sale), will still end on 28th March 2010.

Quote from the BK Post:
"The decision was made on ground that about 10,000 people who had bought their homes might not be able to transfer their property right before expire date of the tax incentive measures", Mr Abhisit stated."
