Following speculation that the current temporary Tourist Visa fee waiver would be extended from March 4th 2010 to the end of the year, The MFA has apparently confirmed that fees will be introduced again on March 5th 2010.
Upon entry to Thailand, the holder of the visa will be eligible for a 60 day stay that can be extended for a further 30 days inside the country.
There are no changes to visa exempt entries - these are free and allow 30 days in Thailand if arriving by air or 15 days if entering by land or sea.
Unfortunately, I can't find any change yet on the MFA website (not surprising as this news is only two day old) or on consular sites such as Hull. I'll put something more official up if and when I find it.

It should then go on to state that "tourists will then be fined this amount for over-staying their visa"!Tourists who face travel delays because of riots or demonstrations will be given $100 per day.

If they offer me free FULL medical insurance, then I'm on the next plane out.
My last insurance quote (for January) was damn nearly a grand and that did not cover any pre existing conditions.
I won't hold my breath on that one and holiday in the EU instead. A lot cheaper if you end up in hospital
The Thais really don't have a clue, when it comes to good PR, do they.

I've lost my mind and I am making no effort to find it.
