Going out in HH

Post by Bing84 »

Hi all!

Like you probably noticed I'm new to this board.
I found this place by looking for info about Hua Hin.
I've already been reading the forum for a couple of days, but still didn't quit find what I'm looking for.

I'm an engineer student from Belgium. My entire faculty will be visiting Thailand to improve international contacts in a couple of weeks. We will stay in Hua Hin for several days.

With a group of 20 students, it would be nice to have some fun during our stay! So I was wondering if there are any clubs, bars or disco's suited for people between 20 en 30?
We're actually not looking for any sex or girls. Just some place to hang out in the evening and at night. Does Hua Hin offer that possibility?
I kinda get the feeling from reading the forum that the Hilton has some kind of monopoly position in the out-going area.

Second, i'd like to know if there are fun beach sprots, like jet skiing.

Thanx in advance guys!

Bing,

Ther is plenty, the best street for music bars is Soi Selakarm at the back of the school. JW's and Sugar Cane have mnore music than the rest of Hua Hin out together. Except no ABBA of course.

Jet skiing has to be done in the next bay (south) as our King and Qeen live in Hua Hin. You need to go to the bay south of Kao Takieb but may need to book with a company first.

Night clubs are either Thai with Thai Music (they're the better ones) or the Hilton which is a pile of turd and second's as a meat market.

Msiny guys have goine there and ended up with tho two veg as well.

Methinks he doth protest too much! Sorry, couldn't resist that as a former student who became addicted to porn after a field trip to Amsterdam! I would be surprised if none of your party catches "Yellow Fever" on the forthcoming field trip!

Not strictly true - as has been posted elsewhere and as I can personally verify Khao Takiab (north of the headland) has become menaced by jetskis close to the shoreline - please don't go there for this activity - it is unregulated, unsafe and likely to result in a punch in the eye from irate parents of small children trying to paddle in the sea!

P.S. This post is not meant to offend but I am pissed up and full of curry!

Check out the the style club in the basement of the Hin Nam Hotel 4 Km North of town, it is a late nite venue, The City Beach center of town has a Thai disco. The Hilton is a meat market but it is very popular with the tourists especially, and its right by the Soi Bintabaht bar area. Check out some of the local International Universities. Suan Dusit and Stamford are easy to find, Webster is a half hour away out on the bypass route.

A group of 20 students? Go to Bintabaht, split up into smaller groups, spread around the bars and then go to the Hilton or City Beach for late night dancing. Yes, everyone hates them and there are hundreds of messages on here saying how bad the Hilton is...it is, but you can still have great fun in an overpriced club, with shit music and desparate girls. Honest, you can.
