CoCo 51 is good... there is also Supatra in Takiab, both similar very nice beach Thai seafood restaurants with good ambiance, food and live soft music (at least on weekends, not sure about weekdays).
My brain is like an Internet browser; 12 tabs are open and 5 of them are not responding, there's a GIF playing in an endless loop,... and where is that annoying music coming from?

La Mer is worth considering too. Great views back to Hua Hin, really good food and usually some music. A bit more authentic Thai than Coco's or Supatra if that's your thing.

It's about 8Km south of Hua Hin in Khao Takiap. You go up the steep hill towards the temple and monkeys, and then take a sharp left (well sign posted).

Personally, it's still a favourite of mine, and I make sure we go at least once during every visit. I don't think you'll be disappointed if that is your choice.

How do you get there? You'll either need your own transport, or go by taxi/tuk tuk, and arrange a collection time.

I trust La Mer has a decent wine list, but can you bring your own bottle as well (assuming a corkage fee of course)?

Yes thanks for that but coco 51 I have been there many times of the last 6 years and its not soooo good.
Supatra is ok but I'm looking for something a bit more special and maybe up market don't mind as long as it is good

You'll probably need to try one of the restaurants at the Hilton or Sofitel if you want more up market than the two mentioned.
