Security passes

Post by Pundi64 »

So the plan is to issue these to everyone who lives within HH? ok I give, this can't be for real, LOL I can just see it now, by 2012 they have finally issued out to everyone, whoops the meeting has come and gone, what happened???
They can't even regulate the helmet law on motocycles now how are they going to regulate this??
So if you live in Cha-Am you can't go the HH or if you do you'll get stopped - searched??? :cuss:

I think if you're from Cha-Am you get the special strip search. :D :D :D

Was in Market Village today and they were doing the vehicle registrations for your sticker.. ground floor close to Swensens icecream near the ATM's. No queue, but not sure how long they are going to be there for??
I'd go now before the queue's start
Not there today! Every time I go somewhere where someone says they were, they are gone already!

This is the usual Thai Government clusterf**k! I give up and will just stay in my house for the duration. :cuss: :cuss: :cuss:

we too went to Market Village today only to be told they were only there for 2 days and to try the Tessabahn which is what we did.

Went to the tourist section and I was then lead to the information desk where there were two ladies taking details. Took about 5 mins just needed passpart and blue book for the car. I have to go back on the 15th to collect the pass

Hi everyone
We to went the Market village today, and got sent to Chompsin Road just past the yellow Supermarket about 200 metres on the right hand side.
We also got told that they will be registering in the temple in Hua Hin town centre on Friday.
Good luck, they are certainly giving folk the run around!
Cheers Paderborn

For me the same as for Paderborn!
The 2 Ladies at the information desk, groundfloor, Market Village were very helpful and gave even a small city-map to show the place of registration at Chomsin Road today and tomorrow.
Unfortunately, I was to dumb to find it...
They also told me, that there will be an alternative to register on 1st + 2nd of October between temple and clock tower....so I'll have another try soon...lol

We are simply going to leave town a few days before and come back a few days after. Hopefully, we can get out before all the security starts.

Hogus, in UK but back very soon. Time we met up for a few beers.

Last year we had the asian summit here in Hua Hin too and it was perfect organized. Never fellt any restrictions.

Hua Hin does it better then other places, therefore they get the events to Hua Hin.

I thought it all was about where the "safest" place was?
After all, the summit didn't do too well in Pattaya and Phuket was a non event.
The political factions will definitely think twice before starting any trouble in HH.
Sorry, I don't think it has anything to do with better organisation.

Well, I also have my doubts in view of a better organization here in Hua Hin.
It seems for me more to be the last catch at a straw, to avoid another heavy compromise of Thailand within the ASEAN-Community.

Anyway, it was possible to register successfully today...but not at the Temple or Clock Tower (there was nothing to see).
So I went directly to the Tessabaan as moja suggested above.
No queue...it just take a couple of minutes....and the sticker will be able to collect on 15th Oct at Tessabaan again. :thumb:

@ Ken
It will be my pleasure to have some drinks with you soon again.
I'm missing it already! 8)
Just let me know by PM or SMS, when you're in town again!

The Government has announced that it will be invoking the Internal Security Act in Hua Hin and Cha Am between October 12th to 27th. Summit doesn't actually start until 23rd but they need time to set up their command centre.

Says there will be restrictions on transport etc, guess that's why these vehicle stickers will be needed for locals.
