Taste of Thailand in UK.

Has anyone been before to any of the UK based events (Taste of Thailand) advertised on this site?.

Any recommendations or thoughts on these events, would be helpfull.

The Amazing Thai festival at Secretts farm at Milford in Surrey (just off the A3 past Godalming) is highly recommended, its run every other year. Its all for charity and actually run by a Thai UK based charity. Not cheap to get in, but its a great location, activities are centred around a couple of lakes, there are masses of food stalls and many other types of stalls selling everything from fresh fruit and veg to Thai goods and nic-naks. Plenty of beer stalls! It has very good entertainment throughout the day. I believe all 3 days are the same?

This has been going for 3 years but have not been, but the year before i went to one in Bournemouth.

This year me and the wife have booked the sunday the 5 th July off work we have both been working the previous years.
This year we are going with about 8-10 other Thai's and if i have got anything to do with it we will be doing a few pubs on the way there.

I think this info is relevent as your down the south coast somewhere, also have you read about the new thai temple in a country cottage near Milford on sea.

Hi Kendo

We met the monks from that Thai temple (near Lymington I think) at a friends house blessing near my home last month.
I think they are from the temple that you are talking about. See pics.

They were great fun and we all enjoyed the blessing and the food afterwards.
I had one of those white strings tied around my wrist, which pleased the wife no end.

I think I have a flyer around about the house they want to buy and turn into a temple, as we all gave donations and we wish them success.

We plan to take some time to go up to London and go to a few of the events on the Taste of Thailand site, this year.

The wife went to a thing in Poole/Bournemouth last year maybe the one you went to, she came back with a smile on her face, as she had such a great time.

4 years ago the one in bournemouth was in kings park near the footie ground.
The one in Southampton any good for you it's supposed to be quite big.

Lymington is only 10 miles from where i live on the edge of the New Forest.
