Hands up all those non~Manu English fans (besides Baa Baa and me) who want to see Barca win tonight. How sad are we?

Despite all of Barca's artistry and as much as it was enjoyable to see and be amazed at how many chances they missed and how one-sided the game was, I still thought it pretty boring.

As great a team as Barca are, and as great a manager Sir Alex maybe, I think he should look long and hard at his team and tactics tonight.

United were poor. Maybe they have spent the last few days enjoying all the hype written about them?

Hope this w/e's cup final is more exciting.

I think he'll looking at several of his team as they leave through the door, and a few more picking up their retirement cheques. If Sir Alex stays, I think he's looking at a major re-build again - does he have enough years left to do that again?

think you're right there too, they've won the league fair enough but they haven't been that great, just consistent.

we will now hear all the hype about barca, yet a few weeks back they were battered by chelski at the bridge & were fortunate to make it through to the final tonight :|

hope the fa cup final is better too, come on everton!!!!

Good point, BB. It will be interesting to see what next season brings! I got the impression from Tevez at the end and his interaction with other Mancs, that that was his last game?

I've thought it all season, Uniteds midfield is poor, Xavi and Iniesta vs Carrick and Anderson is no competion.
Thats why Liverpool battered them, Mascherano and Alonso are better than their midfield.

Their defence plus Rooney and Ronaldo is enough to beat 90% of the league but up against the big boys, don't believe the hype.
The media has tried to hype this as the best Man Utd team ever.

:lach:

Beckham,Scholes,Keane,Giggs Vs Park,Anderson,Carrick,Fletcher.

Liverpool and Chelsea are better teams toe to toe, united are better at beating lower standard teams.

Anyway, hopefully Ladyboys off.

I didn't think the game was boring at all, I love watching Messi, Iniesta etc play well against anyone, but, United seemed really, really flat.
I dont know if it was because they didn't get much of the ball but they didn't turn up.

Oh well. 8)

I thought United were excellent for the first 9 minutes with Ronaldo fizzing the shots in,then Eto'o turned Vidic in the penalty area and it was game over.
I found it very similar to the United v Liverpool match in March where Liverpool ran at Uniteds midfield causing havoc. This time it was Iniesta and Xavi doing this and tearing Uniteds midfield to shreds.
United really missed Fletcher as a holding midfielder and have missed Hargreaves in this role all season.I thought the 2-0 scoreline flattered United.
Possibly Sir Alex could have played Rafael at full back and O'Shea in the holding midfield role but dont know if it would have made much difference.
Giggs and Scholes have been great servants for the club but surely next season will be their last for United.
So maybe the balance of power is shifting in English football.United have flattered to deceive with 3 trophies this season,Chelsea will have a new manager next season and Arsenal are probably 3 or 4 players away from mounting a serious title challenge.
If Liverpool can sign a couple of decent strikers and a good full back they could well be the top team in England again for the first time since Maggie Thatcher was at her peak !

He didn't travel home with the rest of the squad today.

I'd rather him than Berbatov and about £35 million was spent on Nani and Anderson.

Strange decision if they let him go.

Post by Arcadian »

Whilsy trying to find HHS`s advert I saw that a poll of 2500 fans voted Ronaldo the most hated player in the premier league.
