Also I can confirm that you should read your policy carefully before you accept it. I had a friend who was hospitalized in HH (first in San Paolo, but he survived only because we moved him to HH hospital - yet that's a different story.) He was eventually diagnozed with a Japanese brain infection, but before that San Paoulo determined he was, unknowingly, HIV positive. His policy had a paragraph which exempted coverage for sexually transmitted diseases, and he is still fighting a battle to have his treatment (not for HIV) covered. Many insurance companies have this waiver. The Dutch-based Gouda company does not have such an exemption in their policies, and its prices are competitive. I know, because I looked at many offers before I decided.Khundon1975 wrote:Chopper123
I cannot tell you where to get the best health insurance deal in Thailand as mine is from BUPA in the UK.and is very costly.
However I can tell you that you should declare every and I mean EVERY illness that you have ever suffered from, if you don't and end up in hospital in Thailand, you may well find that the insurance company refuse to pay.
Leave nothing out and then when the company gives you cover they cannot refuse to pay.
A couple of my friends have been refused payment, after they were admitted to hospital in Thailand when the insurance company discovered minor past health problems that had no connection to the medical emergency they were in hospital for.
Beware the small print.
Good Luck
