First question: Does anyone have any good experience from using concrete and masonry sealants here in Thailand?
Second question: Is the BASF MASTERSEAL available here and has anyone had any experience using this product.
I am thinking of putting sand washed concrete on the driveway for my new house but the applications I have seen so far seem to look ugly after a few years. Whether that is due to non-use of a good sealant or not I don't know.
Since the concrete surface is rather porous I believe all naked concrete surfaces should be sealed.
Concrete and Masonry Sealants
If the area is within 10 meters of your house, just get a few Thai painters in to paint the walls of your house. They mess enough paint to make sure you paving will be sealed for years.........lol.
When the sand wash starts going black, you can gett it looking as good as new so not really a problem.
They do a similar sort of style paving in South africe but it's some sort of resin they use instead of cement. Even under blistering sun, the paving still looks as good as new ten years down the line. In fact, they guarantee it for 25 years. Unfortunately though, I've never seen anything similar in Thailans as yet.
You could of course also opt for decorative concrete, some of which looks great. An example of this is the floors inside market village, and of course elsewhere as well.
Cheers
