House Swap?

Post by PeteC »

Sadly I read the post about fish & chips from 'Dianachris' which ended in "see you next year".

I wonder if there would be a market for expats living here to swap houses with trusted visitors?

Lord knows some of us need to get out of here for a few weeks, and many of us don't have dwellings elsewhere. Many of us now (and more later) are retired, so our schedules are usually flexible.

Makes no difference if you go to the country you're originally from or elsewhere. I would enjoy two weeks in the UK, Scandinavia, Germany, Russia etc., summer or winter.

If the right matches could be made of comparable value, and the trust/guarantees there, it could save everyone a ton of money.

Someone should start a "Match Making" service. Pete

Not sure if you mean just Thailand, or World wide Pete.

And many more if you Google it.

Pete,

Services like this already exist. I saw a TV ad about one that looked like a good one but I can't remember the name. Google "home exchange" and you will see many companies who match people for such a vacation swap.

I haven't gone through the links yet Nereus but will be interesting if there is a Thailand section. We've never talked about it on here, so not sure if it's actually an accepted practice here?

Perhaps some exist for the Phuket villa with speedboat/dock etc----- in exchange for comparable on lake Como.

My thinking is to bring it down a few notches to us common folks. :D Thanks. Pete.

Wow, that's two now. For sure I've been here too long. Let me search (punee) as I still can't imagine there's too much advertisement for Thailand swaps. Pete

It's a splendid idea Pete.
Why waste money to join some home exchange club if we can swap houses for free between HHAD members?
I intend to live forever - so far so good.

Brilliant idea! I'm going to be taking some extended leave when my new place is fixed up, so if anyone fancies some time in the beautiful English countryside, two village pubs, some local shops, many places of interest nearby, I'm up for a swap!

I'll swap with you.

How would this suit you for a couple of weeks?

It's airy with beautiful views.

House Swap?

I would certainly consider a swap, and definitely prefer to arrange it via folks on HHAD rather than some faceless agency.
Around a month between next Christmas and Songran would be a good starter? Anyone seriously interested please pm me.
