Sorry MrP,

I certainly would hate to be the "terrier" that created a situation where you and other posters "didn't feel as if they could be open and honest."

I actually appreciate you calling me a terrier though as I think those are dogs that do not give up, no matter how futile their struggle may be against whatever they are up against. :D :thumb:

It was a bit before my time, Mr P, and probably yours, but what were these pre-Robin Day insights?
I didn't say pre-Robin Day. He DID get answers from politicians but as I made clear, towards the end they had adjusted their tactics, so he was getting less.

The Paxman & John Humphrys bullying style ensured we learned even less. At least, that's my perception. And not just mine..

I read the article as questioning and not really many criticisms of Paxman in there - it's great when the politicians complain, as it's mainly them doing the whinging, albeit from an article over three years old.

Policiticans are now well trained to handle the media and have been for many years, ever since the importance of TV was understood, and not as in the days of the 55 minute interviews that Brian Walden mentions. That's why it's become such a game in my opinion, with the interviewer trying to elicit any relevant answer from them!

In fact everyone is trained in such techniques now, whether it be Police, armed forces, civil servants and me! And I am way, way, deep down the pecking order.

Anyway, it turned out Paxman was right about Charles Kennedy!
