Since the event is still two days away, I'll give the thread a push with a comment to keep it running for awhile. :D

I don't drink wine often but used to. Then and now I am good for an entire bottle, except for the last glass! That last glass does me in with the onset of a cold, clammy feeling and spinning head.

The last time was over the Christmas period with two friends here at the house. I think it took each of us about 90 minutes to go through a bottle each. We had eaten dinner about two hours prior. Perhaps drinking too fast and stomach not enough bulk? Pete

One bottle is fine for me as long as I stop there. It's popping the cork on that second bottle that is the killer. Nothing worse than a wine hangover first thing in the morning.

I think I've said this before, but that's the danger here of boxed wine. Back in the U.S. I would open and drink a bottle and knew it was time to stop. Here with a 5 liter box of wine with a spigot on it, it's easy to lose count and I don't realize I've had too much until I'm suffering the next day!

Also, I was getting healthier there in this respect. For the last couple of years I lived in the states there were a couple of wineries putting out a very decent and drinkable non-alcoholic wine. I had developed a taste for it and was only drinking it at home for the last year or so, but it's not available here so I'm back on the sauce harder than ever. :(

Being a wine drinker I have discovered a way around your problem.

Drink the last glass first.
I've lost my mind and I am making no effort to find it.
