Hi Den
the best things I found were;
Small enough that you can walk around bars, restuarants, and to the beach.
Most of the Farangs are decent guys.
Lots of other things to do, besides get pissed and wake up in the gutter.
House prices are not as silly as other areas in Thailand.

Worst things;
iv'e not found them yet but give me time. :roll:
I've lost my mind and I am making no effort to find it.

The best thing about HH is the people.

The worst thing by far is the traffic and getting worse every month, hate to drive in HH anymore.

But there are many more good things than bad. :cheers:

Norm................solve your driving problems by riding a bike. Even if I had a car, it would only be the wife that would use it in town as I simply don't have the patience. A bike is a lot easier and in most cases, a lot faster.

Okay, the best thing in Hua-Hin.......................everything, apart from the worst thing.

So whats the worst.....................keeping up to date with Thai visa laws but that of course is nationwide.
Don't try to impress me with your manner of dress cos a monkey himself is a monkey no less - cold fact

Best: I'm getting out as soon as I can sell the house. :D

Worst: Can't find a buyer in the current economy so looks like I'm stuck here for a while! :( :wink:

Takiap....Several problems with me using a bike.
The wife would never get on a bike and ride with me and 99% she is along when I go somewhere.

I past my "use by date" several years ago and it is not feasible to get accident or medical insurance, at a reasonable cost.

While I haven't been in a car accident in well over 30 years I wouldn't want to tempt faith on a bike.

But thanks for the suggestion.

Off the top of my head...

I like the ball-in-hand pool rules adopted by most bars and players

I like the fact the town and surrounding areas is big enough for new surprises and anonymity when required yet small enough to know a lot of people and where they hang out.

I think Hua Hin lacks a nice public park although nearby Cha Am Forrest Park is very special.

Most foreigners are over 50 so not as vibrant as other places.

Property too expensive in comparison with other provinces.

Most expats & Thai natives friendly and amicable.

I hope the Hot Property comedy 'club' continues and more innovative ventures such as this take off. :thumb:
