If its that bad go home, you have no right to judge, you are guests.

:guns: :guns: :guns: here.
The words 'holiday' and 'ex-pats' are most relevant. Ex-pats live here. This is home. Frankly, it would have to be bloody awful to make me even think about going back to live in the UK.

In the meantime, do enjoy your holidays here. And I sincerely hope you have no complaints about the place you choose to call home.

Cookie, I'm a big critic of farangs complaining about small things but being smacked round the head with a lump of wood by a gang of teenagers, burglaries while you're asleep or your car being fire bombed are valid complaints shirley.

Welcome to the board Sir.

How many times have I told you, always throw your fags out of the car after you've dropped them on the car seat

Ok, since I started this thread and it seems to be controversial, I would like to make a further comment to put all this in perspective.

I am a full time resident of Hua Hin for over four years now. One of the many reasons I chose Hua Hin was, and still is, very low violent crime compared to the majority of places around the world (including my home country, U.S.A.).

I started this topic because after living here for three of those years I had heard of no serious crimes except the occasional burglary or an empty holiday home. Suddenly, I started hearing about more serious stuff and I wanted to get the low down from some other expats living here as I am somewhat of a hermit and frequently out of touch with current local news.

That said, anyone reading this stuff thinking of moving here or coming on a holiday should not be put off as this is imho still one of the safest places around. :thumb:

Rising crime in Hua Hin

Just been informed that the police believe there may be another wave of burglaries/robberies etc. as we enter high season. Bangkok police guy down for weekend break says they have info of an organised group targeting this area during the high season. He is the friend of a lady I know here and we spent a couple of hours chewing the fat in Thai karaoke bar.

Keep on your guard folks!

Rising crime in Hua Hin

Hello all,

Been reading this forum regularly from the discomfort of the UK for the last year. I am now happily living in Hua Hin and have started a company supplying and installing Burglar Alarm Systems.

If you are interested please click the link at the top of the page "Hua Hin Security'.

Have to say it's great to finally be here!!

Been assaulted by one farang and ripped off by two.
Never had much of a problem with a Thai.
I remember that I'm far away from my own culture and I take care.
I realize that I'm filthy rich compared to most locals and I don't flaunt it.
I pay my Thai staff healthy salaries and address the elderly as Pi.

I know most farangs feel that Thai people view them as walking ATM's. And farangs are easy targets... In my opinion the best solution is to educate the Thai business owner so that they fully understand how ripping off farangs affects their pocket books. Help them connect the dots...

Bag snatch

Post by brit583 »

I've been in Hua Hin a week now and love it. However I did witness an American lady have her bag snatched outside the Hilton on Monday by a guy on a motorbike.

I think people do need to be more aware of their belongings. The lady had her bag on her wrist hanging out. Easy target.

Hope the crime does not put people of a great little town.

This can happend everywere in every contry.

Everywhere there are weak people and easy target and the violence gets worse worldwide.
