then work my way up the road or wander round the Binta Blok via a few bars (the women are good in most but Im retired from that now anyway so just beers and flirting nowadays),
then grab a Binta Burger cheese and bacon burger, & jump a tuk tuk at 1am and sod off to Luknam for a few hours and some good rock with the local Thais.
When it shuts at 3ish tuk tuk back to town and hit a few of he small karaoke bars round teh Hilton
wake up burnt as hell and covered in mozzie bites spreadeageld on the beach with a beach dog licking my face
retire hurt to bed.
That's a top night out in my book, i am allways falling asleep some where, last time on a leather sofa in a pub in cowes, after 10 hours of drinking a couple of the locals got a model of the Titanic off the fire place and held it behind my head so the rest of my mates could take a few snaps for the record.
It's starting too get really cold at night so i must try and stick too my wifes rule, Kebab and cab, thing is i never seem too eat the kebab i just wake up cuddling it, much too my wife's dismay.

S-M, just had a look at your MySpace, right bunch of hippies especially for the late 80's. I seem to remember being smartly dressed in Pringle, Lyall & Scott, Ellesse and Fila at that time like the rest of the herd
Impressed mate, is that actually you in that band pic you put up ? Feadre is a bit of a sort.

PS: Now I know that it was a 1987 reunion it explains why you were all wearing 1980's clothes
I have to agree with Sandman. My Thai brother-in-law comes down about once a month and this is roughly our circuit - we miss El Murphy, but only because he doesn't eat beef. Otherwise it's the Bint for a bit, Poonsuk for some pool, then various Thai places 'til dawn. Quite fun if you don't do it too often.
I also agree with the poster who urged caution. Hua Hin is not Pattaya or Bangkok, for good or bad, but there is crime here as well as beautiful girls, and a farang alone in the Thai places (not Luk Nam but the late night joints) is a bit of a target. I have done the circuit alone alone and quite pissed - I don't advise it.
Don't be too trusting, and if you can, take a friend.
yep that up there is me circua 84ish complete with shiny silver shirt, leathers and a mullet.....as are most of the piccys of the hippes bikers and stoners on my site....(oh hang on...y mean the band site...ah yeah). I was in Decomp. Feadre is a mate whos married to another Uni buddy....small but great voice live....she sings with Peacenik. Theres a lot o sites linked together....sad but thats how we stay in touch...........
the band posters used photos from much earlier than 87. Thats just when we won the contest. I was at Uni in the very early 80s....after that it all went pear shaped......
thing is when we had the reunion i seemed to look at least 10 years younger than the others....and my old lace up leathers still fit.....and I didnt crash out......
hmmmm ...who says a rock lifestyle is bad for you?

Moonshadow wrote:From a previous post, Luknam seems a good place to go for traditional Thai music. What I want to know now from other members is the ultimate night out. I want to take in half a dozen establishments, I want to eat, drink and have a good time and maybe pick up the best looking Thai girl in Hua Hin. So members where do I start and where do I finish ?
Good luck! A good rule of thumb is to get out early, as that's when the lookers usually get grabbed

I have the sort of skin where a scratch goes bright red. I had, at Uni, a lass who liked to scratch my back. One time we were getting ready for a gig and my mates saw my now stripey red and white back....bingo...."Bagpuss".
The band and crowd called me IsGod....as in "Dave Is God"....
thanks for the compliments....Ill let the band know someone still likes it....not bad for a 4 track recording setup but sounds a bit flat to me....not as much depth as live....we sounded bloody good live.
still.....happy days/daze

Thanks some good idea's guys. Was thinking of going to Pattaya before Samui next year but maybe Pattaya is to much in your face and I'll give Hua Hin ago instead. What you thinks ?
Pattaya is a big place, like a mini BKK....so some bits are much more laid back and less in your face than others. Bits of Jomtien can be cool....Walking Street and its area is hellish.
Give it a spin and see.....personally I prefer HH any old day.

I'm reading so many good reports about El Murphys but can't seem to locate the place or the road, Selekon Road I believe. Please help so I don't spend half my night chasing my tail.
