How good are these copies SJ?Super Joe wrote:The best football shop in town for me .........
He speaks English and has the biggest variety I've seen anywhere, including bags, flags, banners etc.
He seems to have a cheap market quality one's and then very good copies for a few hundred Baht more.
He's got the machine for putting names and numbers on back.
SJ
Roughly how much?
The ones I get from Pattaya are almost perfect, Im convinced they're seconds.
It'll be a bonus if I can get that quality in Hua Hin.

Not sure BaaBaa, haven't got anything since last Christmas.
Think the bad copies are same as market and the good one's are about 250-300 Baht per shirt more. They're very good quality probably from the same factory as the Pattaya 'near perfect' one's ??
Worth a look, they have all countries home and away, a lot of European teams in additional the the big names.

For anyone who interested, the next section past toys'r'us that getting fitted out now is a P & G Toys, a kids assort course/rope ladder/crawl through tubes affair. Also a child's games/computer fun learning room.
The small toy shop from 2nd floor is also moving up there for Terry.
Anyone seen the small Thailand Post Service set-up outside HomePro, handy for small jobs like letter sending.

Hi there Y'All
Hallo there Super Joe and BaaBaa
I will be comming to Hua Hin this weekend to take an extended break after a very messy News week both politically and economically.
I'm gonna check out the newly opened section @ Market Village Mall and will throw an Eye on the new Toys'R us that will soon be opened and adjacent shop. Expect me to be there in Hua Hin for five days to relax and unwind.

You were not wrong about the prices Pete.prcscct wrote:I would say so, especially brand name companies such as Fisher Price, Mattel, real Barbie dolls, original action figures etc. Probably due to import duty taxes, just like when you buy a bloody imported car here.BaaBaa. wrote:Good Man.STEVE G wrote:Apparently so, I’m back next weekend for a few weeks so I’ll have a look for you, I need to buy a kid’s birthday present myself.

Above the Western prices?prcscct wrote:When it opens get ready for sticker shock. Much of the stuff is quite expensive if they price like Pattaya. However, you're getting good quality concerning the major toy items and items identical to what is sold at their stores in the West. PetePete

Don't say "3 years and up" too loudly here, you'll have some adult Thai neighbors trying it out given the are over 3.
I have a real issue with a rating like that. All riding type toys should be based upon body weight, clearly stating the maximum, not age.
I bought a quite expensive swing/slide/jungle jim set here for my daughter from Kisko. It's used in schools as well therefore has a big instruction sign in Thai and English about the do's and don'ts. Sure enough it says for "12 and under" So what happens, a neighbor who regularly brings her daughter over to play brought a visiting guest kid as well. 10 years old and at least 75 kilos. One of these only boy child "little emperor" type kids here. I told his Mother to get him off the apparatus, he's too heavy. Well, I may as well thrown s^&t in her face. Talk about Thai TV 7 drama show of the week. Sorry Mom, you're out of here. Mortified my better half but if he did break it, they would have walked away and left me holding the repair bill. Life is tough, happy I was able to spread a little reality here during that episode.

Hallo there Y'All
I had a nice Chat with a freind last night who is just like me a Stamford Hua Hin Campus Graduate. For my friend more Special though he's a Schiller - Stamford international University in 2002.
As I told him That Toy's R Us Store has opened in Hua Hin he was kind of suprised. than he asked me if they had Star Wars products there? I said yes they have.
Than our discussion turned serious of how long Toy's R us in Hua Hin would last? I replied back I'll give it a year. Than he said: "I wish it would last that long because mosst Thais don't like their children to Play with Toys some of the parents think Toys are Bad. therefor not buying them Kids Toys. What little they know they are limiting their childs devellopment of a Imaginenative visionary mind.
Then he went ton to say that Toy's R us would not be suited for the locals more the affluent Bangkok resedents who have their vacation Homes in Hua Hin.
My question to all of you HHAD Friends and fellas is.
Would Toy'sR us in Hua Hin last long in Hua Hin Market Village Mall with the worldwide economic slump not as many Tourists will come to Hua Hin and relying on BAngkok weekend vacational comers on Weekends would not Help to rump up sales How long til announces that it will close fown do to poor business?
Andmy second question is are Toys really that bad as Thai parents are wieving them or is it just like many things here in Thailand do to bad basic Education?
I hope I had pitched in a gppd question for all to Ponder upon!
