Actually, very little. It used to flap in the gentle mid Pacific Equatorial breeze but other members said it gave them a headache so I froze it.johnnyk wrote:Guess,
what's the Hawaii state flag doing on your posts?
Perhaps I will change it for a local flag when the exchange rate is better.

Don't know if everyone knows but if you're in UK (or a.n.other country) you can open a Thai Baht foreign currency account with most of the banks. When you like the exchange rate you can throw a few bob in and leave the Baht in there until you visit here.
They're easy to open and cheap to run from what I remember.
Obviously you can win and lose but we all have a feel for rates we are happy with and you can at least secure that rate for your next trip. It doubles up as a nice little holiday savings account.

Same as me Caller until someone told me, found it quite handy. They're a standard bank product and sort of sit alongside your current account. When you access internet banking its there as a second account under same login details. You can just transfer money back and forth on internet. Here's the Barclays one: http://www.personal.barclays.co.uk/BRC1 ... alue=12870
You're right the rates aren't as good but its more of a long term facility, say if the rate rose to 68 soon it would probably be a wise move to get some and play safe?? On pay day chuck a few quid in there so you don't spend it, that'll bump the exchange rate up.

I don`t think that they have codes for each Branch, it just goes to head office and then is put in whatever account number that is shown on the transfer.STEVE G wrote:On the subject of transfers, does anyone know the swift code for the Bangkok Bank in Hua Hin? I'm in the UK for a couple of days and I seem to have forgotten to bring it with me.
SWIFT Code: BKKBTHBK
address: 29 Petchkasem Rd, Hau Hin, Prachuabkirikan, 77110

That's right, Hua Hin does not have its own swift code, I was told all the transfers go into Bangkok Head Office and then sent down the line to branches.I don`t think that they have codes for each Branch, it just goes to head office and then is put in whatever account number that is shown on the transfer.STEVE G wrote:

Yes, its a Telegraphic Transfer just like your normal sterling account would do. Obviously as you are sending Baht it is not subject to an exchange rate, you pay TT fees as normal.Sabai Jai wrote:Useful info regarding the THB account held in UK -
Can you transfer easily from one of these accounts to a Thai Bank account (I use Thai Farmers or Kasigorn as they call it now)?
