Thai women don't look old as quick same westerners. I've seen Thai woen in their late 30's that could pass as teenagers. Much thiner to like younger westerners. but most definite, britsch women are to ugly to come with ..

royal is an old course, not very long, and not as well manicured as the rest of the courses around hh, but my wife loves it, probably because there no water around

The anantara is a GREAT place to be, 5-10 mins with taxi from the nightlife, but as you are with your partner, you will probably not take part in that the place is 5 star, has spa etc etc. if you only have B-B then expect to spent some cash there to eat, so you better eat out. some good restaurants ...
