In honor of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit's 80th birthday, the Bangkok Hospital Hua Hin and the Thai Red Cross in Hua Hin, are pleased to invite members of the public from Hua Hin and its environs, both locals and foreigners alike, to participate in a “blood donation campaign”. Where: Bangkok Hospital H...

Re: Lunch by the Beach

Veranda Lodge at the end of the soi on the left to Marriott (Soi 67) has a really nice restaurant just on the beach. You can eat lunch there without being a hotel guest and the prices are relatively OK. There are also deck chairs and a swimming pool - I guess that you could use the facilities for a ...

Re: First Aid Training

I know that Bangkok Hospital in Hua Hin might be able to set up a full-day course given that a certain number of people wanted to participate. They don't have any regular courses scheduled though, so you would need to contact them.

Yes, I was there around 9-10 in the morning and the mosquitoes were not so vicious at that time - that might have given me a more pleasant hike.

Although a can of repellent is always nice to have in the backpack.

I was there in november but did not stay in the bungalows at the beach though. But I think they looked very nice. We came early to beat the tourist groups - that meant we actually had the beautiful cave with the King Rama V temple all to ourselves. So I can recommend getting there early. But remembe...

Hmm, I think it was about 3800-3900 bath (but I do not remember it exactly) and that was in a very nice double room - no villa - but they did look very nice. Included in this price was all meals with free water, snorkling, a little bit of trekking on the island and transfer from Hua Hin. I guess my ...

I went down to Tuk Tours on Poonsuk Road and she booked the reservation for me - very good service. Remember to get a receipt because they want to see it before entering the speedboat to the island. It was a midweek stay with only one night (early november 2007). I was the only tourist there except ...

Talking about cigarettes - I was rather shocked when I saw the cigarette packages in Thailand. Those pictures of an open chest where you could see "cigarette lungs" and other "nice" pictures made me decide to never start smoking (if I ever would have an urge to start) - in Denmar...

Instead of a boardwalk and more concrete would it be possible to somehow extend som parts of the beach with more sand, so that you might be able to walk to Takiab along the beach instead of almost swimming/drowning some of the way - as I did the last time I walked from Hilton to Takiab? This solutio...

Sending flowers to Hua Hin

I would like to send flowers to Thailand.

I know I can use Interflora from DK for flower deliveries in Thailand - ordered through internet - but are there any locally based companies that handles orders via cyberspace might be cheaper to use?
