Re: Tax residency in Thailand and taxing overseas income
About 7 or 8 years ago, my UK bank HSBC, asked me to complete a tax residency statement and insisted that as I was living in Thailand that I provide a Thai TIN number as well. I’d never been near a Thai tax office (still haven’t by the way) but doing some research I found advice saying that the TIN...

Re: Tax residency in Thailand and taxing overseas income
This article seems to confirm everything I've been saying, with the exception of having to prove tax already paid. However, it does talk about the Hua Hin Tax office, and proof is what they are insisting on for me. I have paid my UK tax for years and after completing my annual Tax return I then rec...

Re: Baked Beans
I now buy Thai baked beans Ayam brand but you have to buy the tins marked English recipe. Ayam also has two other types of baked beans but they are not so good. You can buy the English Recipe beans at Lotus, BluPort, Nany's or many other places and they cost about 65 Baht per tin. American Baked Be...

In view of the above forecasts why does the Thai baht not collapse to 60bht to £1 as it was in 2007. ?

Re: New deposit rules for banks
I find this whole issue confusing - so as I pay my UK taxes and have the usual tax return to complete each year and then later on receive the HMRC tax calculation. I then pay or receive and that's the end,
Does this help me with all this TIN business ?

Re: The Beer Thread 2
I have recently ben introduced to LEO #8 strong Brew . It was a can 490 size and 5.1 proof The taste was certainly more beer and I understand that Singha have purchased the Lao popular brewery and in particular have changed the makeup of the Brown beer. They have removed the rice ingredient and repl...

Re: Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand
Just done some quick calculations NB based on ThaiMet data and guidelines from Weather and climate Up to and including Thursday Hua Hin has only had 12% of the rain it should have had to this point this calender year! A sobering thought. According to ThaiMet we've had only 158 mm of rain this year....

Re: Upcoming general election fundamentally flawed: Human Rights Watch
Fantastic early poling results. Pheu Thai and Move Forward expected to have the most first and second most votes. A coalition would be the result the people will crave for. BEWARE of the military appointed SENATE, they have the power to choose the Prime Minister and also dissolve both partys' with ...

Re: Hua Hin Then and Now Comparison
Thailand’s original beach resort is 100 — here’s what to expect today ........Bit of a flowery puff piece about a woman that stays in a few swanky hotels and explores modern Hua Hin. There is a completely different side of the town for the hisos. Yes, I know couples from Europe who visit Thailand, ...
