RIP Gerry Rafferty

Post by Spitfire »

The Scottish singer-songwriter has died at the age of 63 after a long illness and a battle with alcohol.

The most famous time for him was in the 70's with the tunes 'Baker Street' and 'Stuck in the middle with you' which were recorded with the band Stealers Wheel.

I always remember that saxophone solo.

Zillions of aspiring saxophone players have wrestled with the Sax solo of 'Baker Street'. what a 'standard'.
(I imagine sometimes I can still hear it wailing through the walls from my daughter's bedroom).
