Vaccines - Covid 19
Re: Vaccines - Covid 19
And before you ask, I was already number 878xxx on the THG list (which is a nationwide one)
Re: Vaccines - Covid 19
Just tried that also as a plan B (you'll love it BB), and the link just throws up a QR code only for LINE users.
I'll go back to the end of the line ...

For those who have LINE, this is where you register but I’m not sure if it works without first “friending” THG

Re: Vaccines - Covid 19
Those that are going to wait for Moderna which is expected by October, (no guarantees as the government controls the ordering) and assuming you get it in October, It's going into 2022 before you're fully vaccinated.
Re: Vaccines - Covid 19
The way things are going, that is likely to be the case whatever shot we get in Thailand (especially us non-Thai under 50s

I noticed that in the daily briefing it was said that AZ will deliver 6 million doses this month. Still a drop in the ocean.
Re: Vaccines - Covid 19
6 million is all that was planned for June. 10 million/month after that.

I suppose it depends which plan you go by:
The company is expected to produce 26 million doses that are set to be used in public inoculations starting in June.
February: First 50,000 doses from AstraZeneca will arrive
March: 150,000 doses from AstraZeneca.
May: 26 million doses from AstraZeneca-Siam Bioscience
The deputy government spokeswoman says that between 6-10 million doses of the vaccine will be ready to be administered in June.
There are many more quotes, all different!Bangkok-based Siam Bioscience signed a letter of intent with AstraZeneca late last month to make 200 million doses of the British pharmaceutical firm's COVID-19 vaccine, AZD1222, said Nakorn Premsri, director of Thailand's National Vaccine Institute.

Thailand’s vaccination program is about to run into another roadblock
Thailand’s vaccination program is set to hit another roadblock in the coming months as vaccines, both local and imported, start to become more available, a source inside the Ministry of Public Health told Thai Enquirer on Friday.
According to the source, even if millions of vaccines were suddenly available the country does not have the capacity to inoculate more than a set number per day creating a vaccination bottleneck.
“We don’t have the personnel to inoculate millions in a quick amount of time, it will become a logistical issue next,” the source told Thai Enquirer on condition of anonymity.

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19) News
My granddaughter is a 4th year nursing student, called back to Uni early last week to get vaccinated herself to enable her to be part of the vaccination teams (something I personally disagree with - she's a 4th year student and should be learning how to care for people, not sticking needles in people's arms. It does not take 3 years at university to learn that - I know several people in the UK who have been doing that job with minimal training).
She has been confined to quarters for a week now. Why? No vaccine available to vaccinate her. Did they really not know this before dragging her back to Bangkok?

The over 60s that had registered and were given appointments here locally have been getting calls today informing them of cancellation.

Re: Vaccines - Covid 19
No one is talking about booster shots yet and as slow as they are at everything here, that has to be planned for ASAP if they would start a year or two from now.
I know there is not much scientific data yet but these initial vaccinations don't prevent a person from catching the virus later, and they do wear off per my understanding.
But...it's another case of being proactive, so we have little hope until it turns into another crisis.
