Bin files are CD images (an entire CD compressed into one file - it should also have a .cue file) so you need something like this to mount the CD image onto a virtual drive and extract it: http://www.daemon-tools.cc/eng/products/dtLite

That's what I was hoping - but unfortunately not in this case :( :?

Have a look at this to create a .cue file so that you can open a .bin file

barry, did you install and run the daemon tools? after reboot you can load the .bin-file, selecting the bin-extension. no cue file necessary.
a new drive will appear, showing the installation files.
some versions of nero can handle images too.

Thanks for that Georgy - just tried it and it worked like a dream.

And thanks to everyone else too for your suggestions.

The connection was reset

Post by PET »

I have suddenly developed a problem when the above box appears when trying to go into a web sub-site. By that I mean that I go into a site and there may be various areas to look at, say Members Area, What's Happening, Latest News etc etc. Some of the box's I click and I can enter without any problem whilst others I cannot and the subject box comes up also stating;-

Connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
If computer/net work protected by a firewall make sure Firefox is permitted access across the web

As it is only happens to a few sites and as I say boxes within that site it cannot be the firewall because it would stop all entry.

I have not put this very well but I hope someone understands.
I have tried entering via IE but still the same so it appears to be a Windows thing.

I have not done any messing around with the computer except to install English ( United Kingdom ) since all this started

PET, I get the same thing occasionally. Since it's easily recoverable with a second try and I only get it once in a while I haven't worried about it too much and just thought it had something to do with 3BB or their virtual IP address scheme. I was told by one of their techs once that your IP changes every (some number) of minutes during a session here, not just when you start a new session which I thought was the way it worked.

So I just assumed that a page that was brought up under a previous IP address may get lost if you click on something on it after a change of the address occurs.

Just a guess though.

Also seen this and it is usually a DNS resolution problem with the provider.

To fix it go to start > run > then type cmd > in the black box type ipconfig /flushdns

Then clear your browser cache and try again with a hard refresh (ctrl+F5), you may have to do this several times if using IE.

If it still happens have a rant at your provider!

Please give me the short version. I have TOT internet with a Billion wireless-gadsl router. Trouble is it does not reach the outbuildings. What can I do to increase the coverage? Total land size 50m x 50m coming off a TOT landline.

Thanks in advance for any help
