If, what I hear from the Thais I know and what you see on social media there will be a lot of unused Sino vaccines.
To all conspiracy theorists...“when you hear hoofbeats, think of horses, not zebras.” :naughty:

I wonder about the Hua Hin reopening plan. They surely can't do it until next year. Even people getting the first shot of AZ in July won't be fully vaccinated until the second shot in November, plus a week or two for full efficacy. And what about those who are determined to wait for moderna or Pfizer; when will they be protected?

:agree:
Mrs BB and I have agreed, if we are offered Sinovac, we will politely say no thank you, and leave. We will wait for private vaccination. If enough people refuse sandbox/recharge has to fail (not saying they won't go ahead). A lot of egg on face.

I think this is the main point.

It's all very well and good them saying they'll be allowed to import vaccines but that doesn't mean they'll be able to get them from the manufacturers.

If the academy is prioritising Sinopharm may not be a problem as it's Chinese. However, getting it accepted by the general public is another matter. I'm sure I read in a recent report that even the Chinese health authorities are gearing up for a 3rd dose having found that any protection becomes negligible after 6 months.

As much as I've read, the CRA is a university set up for scientific research and more recently given the go ahead to develop vaccines. It just doesn't make sense.

Some interesting/unexpected follow-up measures to be taken after the vaccine has been administered mentioned in today's Daily Brief,

Think if it was a bit of "we want common good" in this world. 1% of our incomes for individuals who earn US 20K and more annually included whatever company big or small which support 5%. Goes to the purchase of the best vaccines for the countries which not have foresight and economy to front the bill themselves, seems to include the land under my feet just now. Instead we have a bunch with day flies trendy pharmaceutical companies making profit on products and some even from the same area which make us need to have all this vaccines at first :banghead: . In addition many vaccines are not healthy for some people. Vaccines are supposed to make us more immune/healthy against illness I suppose. Read health. Sad world.

I went to BP to register today. I went at 3pm on the grounds that someone posted yesterday that the wait time was down to around 20 mins.
That must have been before people woke up to the fact that they could now register. Today, I was given the form and told I can come back 'any day' to register. Why not today? I asked. The answer was that they're full for today.

Somebody I know went to BP today and they were told they only accept 100 registrations per day, so looks like you need to get there early.

Pfizer caught saying the pandemic will turn into an endemic and that will create an opportunity for us to make a lot of money.

That would make sense as as far as I could ascertain, there weren't that many waiting.

Well I returned today as instructed. I was there at 11am. "Where's your Q ticket?" "I haven't got one. I came yesterday and was told to return today."

"Oh, you need to get here at 10am, get a Q ticket at 10:30 and the desks open at 11am"

They never told me that yesterday! I might have a drive up to HH Hospital.

Does anyone know whether you can register at HH3 or HH5?

I went to BP yesterday afternoon after 4pm and there were a few farangs waiting. I collected my form and was told to return with everything at 10.30 this morning, I did as told.

The place was heaving with farangs! I have never seen so many in one place. I collected my ticket number, which was 64. This was at 10.30. At 10.40,I decided it was silly just sitting and waiting. Went back to the lady with the mic and she told me they were up to 20. So 44 to go! She told me to come back in an hour. They had evidently started early.

So I wandered off to Amazon for some tea and decided to return at 10.30, so 10 minutes early and I am glad I did, as it was clear some had taken their tickets and then decided not to wait. It seemed like every few numbers, no-one got up to be seen, including the one before mine. So after 5 minutes waiting, I was done.

So just over an hour from start to finish. I have no complaints about that.
