I tend to agree Miked

If all you need is today's exchange rate it can be found on the forum main page or through numerous links

I think any additional information posted that may give an inkling as to root causes is useful and food for thought. That's what forums are about aint it? Correct me if I am wrong please :?

Sure, opinions on governments and critiques of CS employees is slightly off thread but still relevant to the topic IMO

I'd agree with you there Richard, many viewpoints need to be considered even if they are unpalatable.

The budget has been released and is being seen as something of a non-event with no major changes ahead of the election.
An emergency budget is likely after the election which is when all will be revealed ?

Gentlemen, I would like to refer you to the Moderators section of the Terms & Conditions.

This thread, although very interesting is starting to read more like a UK party political broadcast than a discussion about GBP vs THB. This thread has survived well over 40 pages managing to remain on track, without straying off the subject of the Baht against the Pound..

I believe the forthcoming UK election, public services, pay rises and job cuts to be a worthy subject for discussion, but this discussion is currently taking place in the 'Thai Style' section, and should be about:
Companies, work permits, visa runs, banks and job opportunities.
The Thai Style section is for discussing matters relevant to Thailand, not for discussing British Politics. The Thai Baht is rarely getting a mention.

Please continue the discussion in the Current Affairs section of the HHAD Lounge.

The Forum is sub-divided in to various sections for a reason.

[Edit] Wording slightly changed for clarity.

Perhaps I should have elaborated on my earlier post then BB.
Meaning that because the budget has been reported on as a 'non-event' by political analysts sterling is expected to maintain its current value on the forex markets until after the election when a further budget or 'financial review' is on the cards.
Therefore, no real change in GBP vs THB expected in near future.
P.S. I don't see how you can have a discussion topic about exchange rates ie.THB vs GBP without taking into consideration and mentioning major events such as a country's budget and election.

Edit : written before your edit !

I've opened a thread in Current Affairs on the UK economy so that we can continue any further discussion on that part of the topic.

Question could people give their figure as to how low it can go and a time frame
The reason i ask is because i have 2 and a half years before my state pension kicks in and increases my income by approx 50%
although i will be able to survive on my measly £1200 a month for a while yet i will be running on fumes if it goes below 40  :(

mrs sarges debt collectors are already on bread and water :D :D

Miked, as I understand it, we only went off topic when we digressed into slagging off the Labour party, (which is easy to do) with no reference to the exchange rate.
If the rate fell by a baht every time the Scotch pension-snatcher approached a TV camera, that would be a different matter entirely!

Thailand together with the U k. is in the global market place. events effecting the THB vs GBP are not happening here but in the rest of the world, mainly U.K. we can't discuss these events though.
