Yes.

I only gave them a copy of my passport and the filled-out form. Nothing was asked (or mentioned) about being registered at a hospital.

According to the CCSA, if no hospital holds your health records, then you can register at any medical facility. I think they're encouraging you to go to a hospital that holds a record of you as a patient.

Not sure whether this should go in the humour thread, but it is about vaccines.

Big Boy wrote: Wed May 26, 2021 3:48 pm Yes, they didn't check very much at all. I had my hospital card, pink card, etc., but the girl worked entirely off the passport photocopies and the form I'd previously completed, which was little more than name and address. Just turn up, and they will get you sorted. One of the easiest registration tasks I've known in Thailand. As I said, it ran like clockwork. Even this miserable git could not find fault :D .
I must have just missed you, I got there about 3 pm.

The queue must have gone down a bit, it only took me about twenty minutes (including going downstairs to get a copy of my passport).

caller wrote: Wed May 26, 2021 1:16 pm Edit - but I guess this is only good if registered at HHH. As the requirement was to register where your medical records are. So that would be Bkk hosp for me.
Nope, anyone can register, it doesn't matter if you've been to HHH before. I have, but they never even asked about that, all they wanted was a copy of my passport.

caller, I can't substantiate, but I think BH are not involved in this roll-out. They will be saving themselves for a money making opportunist roll out. I had my hospital card on the table, but she wasn't interested.

There’s a Bangkok Post article now quoting Taweesilp as saying Mo Prom app will NOT be used for registrations from now on. It suggests each province needs to run its own registration process

For those that are considering private hospital shots. Although some private hospitals are taking registrations, the latest from the 'Private Hospital Association' is that around 5 or 6 million shots of the Moderna vaccine have been ordered through the government. That has already been publicisedl. However, delivery of these shots are expected by OCTOBER! These private vaccines have always been in control of the government as they've had to have been ordered by the government.
So there's nothing concrete regarding when they will be available.

It appears that the Chulabhorn Royal Academy (ราชวิทยาลัยจุฬาภรณ์) has been given authority to procure Covid vaccines and other medical supplies, as it sees fit and without going through the government procurement process. I think this means they could buy any vaccine by any manufacturer from any country.

The Royal Gazette announcement (in Thai but translatable by Google) is here:

http://www.ratchakitcha.soc.go.th/DATA/ ... T_0037.PDF

The announcement was signed by Princess Chulabhorn.

This seems to be an extraordinary action about which I don't feel comfortable commenting.

Chulabhorn Royal Academy has signed an agreement to develop medicine, public health and a One Health Science Park

Chulabhorn Royal Academy (CRA) has signed an agreement to develop medicine, public health and a One Health Science Park, in accordance with the wishes of Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana, who has sought to elevate Thailand’s health security.

On May 7, 2021 at the main conference hall of Chulabhorn Royal Academy, CRA Secretary-General Prof. Dr. Nithi Mahanont signed a memorandum of understanding on developing medicine, public health and a One Health Science Park in accordance with the wishes of Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana to elevate Thailand’s health security. The agreement was co-signed by PTT Plc. and is aimed at promoting and supporting research and development, education and training in public health, science and technology and the environment as well as the establishment of a center for medicine and research and a One Health Science Park. The two entities will also seek to distribute vaccines for the COVID-19 virus, which continues to impact a large number of people.

Doesn't seem likely that they will be allowed to purchase vaccines direct from manufacturers. That is a matter of policy agreed by the manufacturers who will only supply to central government.

If you look at the headline in today's Thai Rath it seems to indicate that Chulabhorn Royal Academy will be able to import vaccines on their own:

My wife also thinks that's what the Royal Decree says. Same thing on several TV news channels this morning.

Now, whether the vaccine manufacturers will agree to sell is another story.

Note: If the mods think it inappropriate to post a screenshot of the newspaper, here's what the headline says: ให้ “ราชวิทยาลัยจุฬาภรณ์” นําเข้า “วัคซีน” ได้เอง!

This is the relevant section of the decree: "ได้แก่ จัดหา ผลิต ขาย หรือนำเข้า หรือขออนุญาตและออกใบอนุญาต การขึ้นทะเบียนยา วัคซีน"

I went to HH Hospital today to check whether my mo prom appointment on June 11 is OK and I wouldn't be refused because I'm not Thai. Plan B was to register again for July but I was told the June date would be OK. So no need to change. 😀

I was there at 11am and there was absolutely no queue. So anyone who wants to register and lives out that way might find it more convenient than MV or Bluport.

SinoPharm! If that's the case, then not so hopeful after all!
