oh really, well let me introduce you to these players. Past and present.   Luis Ricardo Guevara Mora  - el nego – salvadorian goalkeeper Fernando Gabriel Cáceres –el negro – argintina player    Héctor Adolfo Enrique- el negro – midfielder argentina Obdulio Varela – el negro jefe – the black chief Ramón Aguirre Suárez – el negro argie defender Ezequyiel Garay: El Negro, the black one Ever Banega – el negro, the dark one Giovanni Moreno – el tanque negro Hugo Benjamin Ibarra – argie right back/ Hugo Ibarra born the 1 of april of the 1973, was an Argentine football right back. "The Black" is an idol of the history of Boca Juniors (in my opinion the best SB ever in boca's history). He had an aggresive style and always was important for boca's squad, because his aggressive style he was compared with players of the level os Cafu and Roberto Carlos. A player with temperament and presence in the field. Is the second most winning players of club with 16 titles (7 local tounaments and 9 international cups) behind Sebastian Battaglia. Leonardo Astrada. "El Negro".  river plate manager El negrito – laurie Cunningham – real Madrid and man u. all of varying skin tones tell it these players and the fans, press, football clubs, fathers that have gavin these nicknames to these players that they are all racists. Tell it to the argie squad holding up a banner for their nego mate, tell it to maradonna too, tell it to the muscians, actors, playwrights. Tell it to tim vickery, who perhaps knows alittle more on the subject of what is and isn't culturally acceptable in latin america. Its alright you already have ltold them that they are all wrong and have in effect labelled them all as racist.

From another forum, you know Peles nickname?

Its quite sad and possibly a put up job? The guy's out shopping with his family and someone asks him to pose with their child and it ends up in the Mail. I wonder how much they were paid for the photo?

The problem you have BaaBaa is that you are ranting on a thread where I suspect most people agree with you, including me (although I think your obvious pleasure at Terry's situation leaves you at risk to a charge of double-standards).

From what I understand, Suarez has admitted using the term 'Negro' (and I plead my ignorance here, by not knowing that had become such an offensive word in the UK), so thats it, thats what he was charged with (from what we know?) and he's admitted it. His antecedents (grandfather, background) was in effect his mitigation. So the question is really about the punishment, which in view of his mitigation, seems to me, wildly disproportionate.

The FA has again screwed up on this despite whichever independents sat on the committee (are they known?), beacuse they haven't yet issued the full written reasons for finding him guilty and that simply isn't acceptable. If it had been a Court of law, then it would have all been public knowledge by now.

The 3 panelists are known but I haven't the time to look them up, one was apparently happy with himself for saving Fergie his job years back.

It's basically 3 middle classed, middle aged, mealy mouthed Brits.

I'm not ranting but I honestly feel it's a linguistic misunderstanding, (the whole conversation took place in spanish, Evra is fluent and started it with a derogatory south American term) the bloke is being hung out to dry, My main hate is the British media, scumbags all, by all accounts he's a decent bloke.

Glen Johnson has even been attacked in the media for the shirt, he tweeted "I will support who I want"

Well I agree with you 100% there. Its been like a feeding frenzy and we're all expected to fall in line, the funny thing is that most folk I know, don't. The comments from McGrath re: Suarez were interesting, only in that where did they drag him up from to get them? It seems like they have had to search long and hard to get the comments they were after and all kudos for Johnson responding in the way he did. The same applies to those (dare I use the word,) 'black' players who as friends of JT, went out on his birthday after this all blew up.

As did Cyril and many others who felt they owed their careers to him and all had good things to say about him, but banished he remains. Age and a quickly changing world are no defence any more.

Bloody foreigners.

From Rod Liddle at the Times. The Uruguyans, squirming with embarrassment, have insisted they have nothing against the United Kingdom, but a lot in favour of Argentina, hence their vote for the embargo. I can’t think of anything useful or even interesting to have come out of Uruguay, which we might boycott in return. It is just a large river and some fields of maize. There’s the rat-faced racist footballer Luis Suarez, of course, who plays for Liverpool — perhaps the Football Association was getting its retaliation in early by banning him for eight games.

This peice of shit is commenting on somebody having an altercation in there own language, it's like I've woken up in the twilight zone.

Shall we have a contest today to see who are the feast stuffed, slightly hungover players? I'm sure they have "training table" rules for these guys but I wonder who really follows them on Christmas. Pete
