I'm reading that the goal posts have been moved for wrinklies in Hua Hin. All of the information until now has stated registration from the 7th June. I'm now seeing that to open Hua Hin early, wrinklie registration has already started and will run until 6th June. So my plans to register when Mrs BB is vaccinated on 9th June have just fallen through.

This is only hearsay so far, but from a very reliable source. I will check it out today and report back.

HHH FB page also has this information. Registration can be done at all HHH branches, MV and Bluport 11am - 6pm, now until 6 June. Nothing about foreigners though. But if you're nearby it does no harm to ask.

Ah, that explains what I have seen at both Malls, where some sort of registration service is taking place. In Bluport, it's right at the front entrance. I only saw Thai language in use, but did see farangs queuing and being seen at the registration test.

Edit - but I guess this is only good if registered at HHH. As the requirement was to register where your medical records are. So that would be Bkk hosp for me.

HHTel - delaying 2nd jabs of AZ is good, but research has only taken place up to 12 weeks, not the 16 weeks being proposed here.

I went to HHH today but the vaccine registration centre was closed because of the holiday. They told me Bluport was open and to go there.
At Bluport on the ground Floor the registration was simple but waited 1.25hrs and just had to fill in a form and showed my passport. I have an appointment at HHH on 6 July at 2pm. When I go to the appointment I will need to again show my passport. The vaccine was confirmed to be the Astrazeneca also FREE!!

OK, I've been. Firstly, very nice to meet joelle there in the flesh, although being told she recognised me because of the size of my feet was a bit different

The process was simple, but the queue was long. Documents required were:

• Passport

• Photocopy of the details page

• Photocopy of the visa page.

When you arrive, collect an application form and be given a queue number. Sit down, complete the form and wait for your number to be called. They told me my wait would be 2 hours. In fact it was 90 minutes - it was fine. It was Thais doing what Thais do best - throwing labour at the task. Thailand understands that, and no silly IT systems getting in the way. The process ran like clockwork.

I was called to a desk, the girl input my details (very little verbal communication), and I was given an appointment exactly the same as PET. So PET, look out for the guy with the big feet on vaccine day . I did have to smile when the young girl handed me my appointment - a huge QR Code on the front.

You will see from this snap, it is as I thought, registration from 24 May until 6 June. 11am until 6pm each day.

[Edit] Don't make the same mistake I made. I parked on the top floor and did about an hours business on that floor before going down to the registration area. In hindsight, I should have collected my queue number, did my business and then returned to take my place in the queue. So if anybody needs to go shopping, get their queue number first.

In Canada they were recommending 16 weeks between vaccinations at one point and the latest info from Public Health Canada is that extending the period between vaccinations to as much as 24 weeks has public health benefits.

Sensitivity analysis indicated that dose intervals as long as 24 weeks would reduce symptomatic disease and hospitalizations across first dose effectiveness against disease and hospitalization values of 50% to 85%.

The Oxford study states:

The efficacy rate rose to 82.4% when there was at least a 12-week interval before the second dose. When the second dose was given less than six weeks after the first one, the efficacy rate was 54.9%.

Does anyone know if this is for everyone or just those already registered at HHH?

I hope they actually get the vaccine. In Korat, where they have run out, teachers queued all day on Sunday before being sent home without being vaccinated. Therefore, will there be a rollover effect if there are delays in vaccinating high priority workers?

Yes, they didn't check very much at all. I had my hospital card, pink card, etc., but the girl worked entirely off the passport photocopies and the form I'd previously completed, which was little more than name and address. Just turn up, and they will get you sorted. One of the easiest registration tasks I've known in Thailand. As I said, it ran like clockwork. Even this miserable git could not find fault .

If someone doesn't have health records at a hospital can they still register?
