Sorry... just doing my 'Search of Shame' this morning to see what the hell I posted last night and came across my comments here. Have to say sorry again  Quite suprised I managed an apology last night tbh.

Back to footie... Becks won't be joining the Tottenham team unfortunately. Will train with the lads instead. Shame really as I had visions of him whacking in a 30 yard free kick in injury time to win the game against Man U next. :D Will be good for the youngsters to have him around the training ground obviously. Still think he's got it in him to perform at top level as he was never a player who relied on his pace in games, just his pin point precision hoof of the ball. With Crouchy up front would have been ideal getting some of those crosses on his ed'.
If it's within arms reach, there's nothing to worry about!!

He'd still be more up to date than Roy "35 years" Hodgson.

Well, I'm going to stick with Liverpool for this Wednesday's match. IMO they played better when Gerrard was out in the past. Let's see if I can prove my point again. The match is a toss up anyway, with maybe a .25 going to Blackpool for home field. Pete

We've now got a manager who will now how to use him though.

Steven Gerrard is/would be a massive loss for anybody.

He's an unbelievable player even though he always has a face like a slapped arse, Zidane and Kaka have both spoke about him being their favourite player, should have been crowned world player of the year too.

The lad is up there as the best Liverpool of all time along with Dalglish.

I'm a bit worried Gerrard being out for the derby game, I honestly believe Liverpool play better without him, only due to the reasoning that they rely on him to much!!

Aaaah, its amazing the things I say after half a dozen Red Horse beers ! 8)
But if Liverpool play him just behind Torres instead of in the centre of midfield theres no reason why they shouldnt finish in the top 6 imo.

How much do you rate Steve Clarke Caller?

Dalglish has appointed him, I hear he's a great coach.

Not Premier League, but a shocker of a story for someone so young, and natural causes is the initial comment. :( Pete

I was born and bred in Macclesfield.....lived there for many years.
Shocking news about Richard Butcher.....29 is no age is it.....puts life into perspective, for sure.
Their manager,Keith Alexander,died suddenly 10 months ago,aged 53.
RIP.

Ian Holloway claims Alex Ferguson still has a long way to go to overcome Liverpool.

The Tangerines boss believes there is no club with a better tradition, support or atmosphere than LFC, saying nobody has managed to emulate us in terms of being a "real football club".

Holloway said: "I just hope that things go well for Liverpool because the tradition of that football club, the way their fans are, that song they sing at the start - that's a real football club.

"I want to make Blackpool as famous, if not more famous, which is going to be impossible because even Fergie hasn't done that yet, he hasn't quite beat Liverpool yet."

Holloway went on to speak of his admiration for Reds boss Kenny Dalglish as both a player and a manager, adding that he was looking forward to going head to head with him on Wednesday night.

He said: "Kenny Dalglish is a legend and I hope it goes well for him because he deserves that status in my opinion.

"I took my wife on holiday once up in Scotland and I had a lot of driving to do and I wanted her to relax and she bought me his book but in a cassette form before CDs. I stuck it in and it was just fantastic hearing his dulcet tones talking to me, telling me about his life. It was just absolutely fantastic.

"I cannot remember a player better then Kenny ever in my whole life and the epitome of it for me was to see him score the winning goal that got Liverpool the double. To be able to do that as player/manager I think was quite wonderful.

"He's a fantastic fellow who I'd like to know better but I won't get a chance because he's now working again and he'll be opposite me in the dugout - which will be another wonderful thing"

Maybe Big Boy could give us some more wisdom from the pen of Ian Holloway.
