This is amazing. Well, that's where we live, isn't it?

To add to the confusion.

Both my Danish neighbor and I successfully used the หมอพร้อม (mor prom Doctor Ready?) app to register and get vaccination appointments. We each used our own Foreigner Thai ID number which the application accepted. (Before this weekend it would only accept Thai citizen ID numbers.) Our appointments are in July. Mine is based on my age, but his is based on existing health conditions about which he was asked when using the app.

Yesterday, my wife used the Maharat Hospital (Korat) website to register me and make an appointment for a COVID vaccination in June. This system seems to be separate from and not linked to the หมอพร้อม application and database.

I'm really not sure what's going on here, but I rarely am.

It is a Thai IT system, so it has more leaks than a sieve. However, nothing surprises me, and if what I am reading is correct, having an appointment now will actually delay your vaccination. Walk in centres should start vaccinating this month - all welcome.

However, they are also saying, even if you have a later appointment, you will not be turned away from a walk in centre.

I am reading this on Facebook, but will only read official government sites. Is it true? Who knows? We will know the truth when it happens, but I think there was a sudden realisation the app was not fit for purpose i.e. a bunch 60+ Thais, many of whom did not even have phones (remember the mess when they tried to issue electronic Covid relief money?).

I forgot to mention that the Maharat website accepts either a Thai ID number or a foreign passport number.

Well of course, that begs the question: "Where do we check locations offering walk-in vaccinations?"

The administration of AstraZeneca and Sinovac vaccine doses in the last five months is creating immunity to COVID-19 in Thailand, with almost all recipients having a high level of antibodies.
According to research on the COVID-19 vaccines' immune response by the Center of Excellence in Clinical Virology of Chulalongkorn University's Faculty of Medicine, both the AstraZeneca and Sinovac vaccines create high levels of immunity.
Researchers measured the level of antibodies against COVID-19 variants in blood samples.
The research confirms that both the AstraZeneca and Sinovac vaccines are very effective in stimulating the immune system, with 97.26 percent of the AstraZeneca recipients having a high level of antibodies four weeks after receiving their first shot. In addition, 99.49 percent of the people, who received both shots of the Sinovac vaccine, have antibodies to help protect them against COVID-19.

Good to see that Thailand is achieving results above the norm. Thai people must be special.

Think it’s more the PR people choosing a more impressive measure.
The presence of antibodies after vaccination is not in fact the same measurement as the vaccine efficacy measured in clinical trials. That one looked at whether people got infected (even including mild or asymptomatic cases).

The data I’d be interested to see for these vaccines is whether serious symptoms and death are prevented. That will need a longer observation period

I read an article, on google news, that said, delaying the 2nd dose increased the amount of antibodies. It didn't say how long the delay was so who knows.
The amount of info about the vaccines and the virus is staggering and the amount of valid info is very small.

They have to say that Sinovac works to appease China and justify their expenses. It is all just propaganda.

Starting from 31st May, people aged between 18-59 will be able to book vaccination appointments by using the Mor Prom app, LINE chat, or at their local hospitals.

Doesn't all the info above that suggest that they already can? More confusion from the department of posters and cartoons.

All of the above info tells me people are using Thai Apps that leak like a sieve. There just isn't enough vaccine available yet for it to be correct. Yes, they may fill in a form, and get a tick in the box, but it doesn't mean it's working.
