To sweatpea I can only say that people here have asked you to expalin what you know to be the truth and all you have implied is that Lersueang group are not the responsible people because of the collapse and without adding anything else what then do yoy expect people to think.
On anther subject I know who killed Princess Diana because my friend's milkman heard from another person who knows the person who cut the hair of another person who was on holiday in Paris at the time and they met someone who was driving the same route and they know another person who cleaned the tunnel the next day and they found out the partial number plate but I cannot tell you the person who actually did the deed becuse if I did the milkman would then get arrested and my friend would not get thier milk delivered.
Now how do I know thsi is true because my friend would never lie to me.
Hope the joke has not gone over peoples head.

you live in HH? You really need to be told? Undereducated bullies, fleeing UK for various reasons, who find their way to HH and find become a builder/developer as a way to riches. They know F---all about building, hire locals to build(some do a good job but the binman has no way of overseeing the work as he knows f---all. You would do well to choose your collective terms better as the vast majority of the people you refer to, if not all, are neither cockneys nor binmen. It certainly doesn't apply to any of the people you were dealing with, as far as I am aware. In case you weren't aware, a Cockney is a person born within the sound of the Bow Bells, the bells of a church in East London, and a binman is a dustbin collector. I don't really think these should be the target of your words.

HHS is of course right but seems to be getting attacked for his postings from certain posters, (keep up the good work HHS).
Of course the reality is that this does not just apply to Hua Hin but many tourist locations in Thailand.
There are people who have absconded from their home countries for various reasons, some from the justace system and of course some from the credit card companies and banks they ripped off before their departure.
The bottom line is that when abroad you should take more care of who you are dealing with when money is involved, this applys to many destinations around the world. Not Just Thailand.
Property scams have been going on since year dot and there seems no reason to think this will end soon, Just read the reports coming out of Spain.
So the best advice would be, RENT.
If things go tits up in your desired country political or personal you can just move on.

I'll try to get two birds with one post here. Both objecting to my term "cockney binmen" for fraudulent builders who speak other than the "queen's english"
I did not invent this term, "binmen" but I did add the term "cockney" for which I apologize as there are no doubt cockneys who are Oxford educated, but they would not be here in Hua Hin plying the builder/developer trade. As evidence that this "binman/men" was used before on this site I have included 2 posts from APRIL 2007 BY "NOMAD' and DO, whomever they may be. Perhaps I should have included the also used terms "villans, drug dealers, barmen."
An explanation was given long ago Joe, by someone who is "man enough" to make you eat your words, but gentleman enough not to bother. but I guess you are so biased to have not understood. I include his post below and if you need more, you can put my name to it.

How many big companies being sued have settled with the aggrieved party but only if that party would keep quiet or publicly withdraw their complaint. To all you that have followed this little drama I would like to inform you that despite me sending NOMAD many private messages he has not replied to any of them.The statements that he has made are been dealt with as we speak it wont be long before his idnentity his revealed and at that point this person will be dealt with appropriately and by the correct authoraties.This should be a lesson to anyone that thinks that they can just shoot there mouth off and upset people we might be in thailand were some rules dont apply but slander is world wide.This man is a coward from what I already know about him from his prevous emails to this site he likes to shout off about everyone in a statement before he states that all builders was once binmen or villians

I think I would give up on trying to find a collective term that fits all the potential undesirables in the property business here, mainly because you'll never find one! Fortunately I think they are outweighed quite substantially now by good, honest professionals, although no doubt when the good times return the bad 'uns will start reappearing. I would have thought now would be the ideal time for the good 'uns to try to resurrect the trade body that was going to be formed actually, after all they must have more spare time to give it some thought? Better to look to the future than dwell on the past I'd say.
