Soi 102 Immigration moving to Prachuap
Maybe not right thread but has anyone had info about 102 immigration status this week?
Heard on the grapevine that it's crawling with BK big boys checking all details.
I have to do a visa extension in the next couple of weeks and was hoping to get it out of the way this week before chaos completely reigns at the back end of the week

Sorry, a bit of a balls up on my my part, my first attempt at editing which ended up with another message.Big Boy wrote:![]()
Could anybody see see the difference in the 19 and 22 Feb News postings - I couldn't. Simply trying to work out the rationale behind the 22 Feb post - a bit delayed to be a duplicate post
I was in immigration yesterday for my 90 day renewal which was as usual a pleasant five minute job. thanks to a few more staff on hand than there used to be.
I then enquired if I could renew my annual retirement visa which was effective up to 21st March this year - No problem as you are allowed to process it one month before the due date. I had come prepared but it was still a bit of an officious lady who required a few more photocopies than usual. Even so the whole process was over in less than fifteen minutes.
Not a happy lady as she commented, ' You've finished, but I haven't'
no doubt referring to the entries in ledgers that they have to do and the updating of the computer records. She also said that she would be moving to Prachuap nrxt month to help them with the extra workload.
to answer my own post All is well up soi 102
Did my extension and got a re-entry permit. Took 45 mins though
Firstly the place was heaving but most had not turned up with the correct paperwork
I as usual went armed with the total contents of my filing cabinet and I needed it this time. Multiple copies of Pazzy, 2 photos, Bankbook and copies of every page AND my rental agreement and a map of where I lived in HH. Everything was checked and double checked by another officer. Twice I was asked to go next door and get another copy of a copy
Counted at least 14 staff there. Young ones doing the simple stuff and the seniors doing the complex stuff. This was all overseen by other officers
I'm a happy bunny for another year now anyway
One point I did note though was because I was dressed in longs and a sports shirt I jumped the queue on string vested shorts clad farangs. So take note. Not too much to dress up a little for this mandatory event

Good point Richard and very true. I've noticed it at all of the immigration offices I've been to. Whether right or wrong, they do notice and seem to give better service to well dressed farangs. I'm now feeling knackered and at the same time relieved
I always get stressed about visa requirements so now the stress is over, I can relax and have a few beers until next year

What an odd email address. I don't see it listed here... http://www.prachuapkhirikhan.go.th/data/office.htm
If it's genuine, I'd write something along the lines of...
Dear Sir
I have heard the Immigration Office in Hua Hin is to close. The office there is very convenient for thousands of foreigners and property owners in Hua Hin who support the local economy and there is much concern at this news.
It would be a very popular decision to keep an office in Hua Hin. Is there any possibility this will happen?
Sincerely
