Yes, I've seen it in a few places - restrictions have definitely not been eased. Probably desperate for some cash.

Went to our local coffee shop to get some bread. They seem to have started to serve eat in customers whereas over the last few weeks they have only been doing takeaway. Also the sign saying that they only do takeaway had been taken down. Has the ban been relaxed?
I'm pretty sure nothing has been announced to date. Cha-cha-cha delayed a meeting about relaxing restrictions until next week. I doubt we'll see any announcement before then.
I think they're probably just 'jumping the gun'.
It is exactly what is to be expected from these "me first" idiots. "Stuff you Jack, I'm alright!"

Some may say unrelated but IMO we see the beginning of depression, stress and economic fear now. Thailand is not the only country where suicide rates are climbing.

The wife just picked up from Thai news that the PM just extended the curfew until the end of May. Will post the story when it hits the English language press. Of course, end of May is once again tentative and may be extended yet again.

It's in the briefing that BB posts in Covid News. NINE new cases, 320 active across Thailand, mostly in Bangkok.
The result is an extension of the lock down until 31st of May including the curfew, closed borders etc.
Unbelievable!
It was said that 'some' restrictions regarding businesses opening may be lifted after the cabinet meeting tomorrow. Although 'full control' as now is recommended to the government.

Will all restaurants be open from 3rd or just "small," ones? Also what are classed as small ones?

Where have got you from this from HH, as plenty of local restaurants are announcing they will open tomorrow or Monday.

My daughter's boss, restaurant owner, rang the provincial office yesterday and was told that the governor is not allowing restaurants to open as per the government guidelines.
Sorry, I think that was late Thursday. My daughter, eager to get back to work, called him. He called back after contacting the office.
Edit: Just spoken with her again and she said that after he got the info from the provincial office, he visited some of the guesthouse/restaurants in the area who confirmed it. Seen nothing official or in writing. Maybe it's supposition.

Further update: The governor initially would not allow restaurants to open, however as of this morning, there was a U-turn. Daughter speaking with her boss a few minutes ago.

You would have thought that by now the restaurants would have received something official if they cannot open. Looking at Hua Hin foodies, some are rushing straight in and re-opening over the next 2-3 days, others are stating that they are still waiting for confirmation that they can open. Organised chaos as ever.

Seems the initial 'order' was only given to those that inquired as my daughter's boss did. Seems he checked again with the office this morning after speaking to other restaurant owners only to be told that the governor changed his mind.
Apparently he's spoken with various owners today most being completely confused.
However, he said that with inter-province travel restricted, and the fact that alcohol cannot be served, he's probably as well staying closed instead of opening on the slim chance he'll get customers.
He'll wait and see how it goes through the week.
Actually her boss (Thai) is paying her 50% of her monthly salary. Something I've not heard of anyone else doing. So she's not been left high and dry.
Sunday Morning Mass Gathering at Big C

Does anybody know what this is?
There were about 300 Thais gathered on the waste ground adjacent to Big C car park. The were all organised into a regularly-spaced rectangular grid. Could it be some kind of religious meeting?

Almost certainly a food give away. I don't know, just guessing.

Of course, I should have thought of that.
Thank you.
