Re: Indian restaurants in Hua Hin
SHIVA
After having 2 disappointing meals here over last couple of years I went back recently.
I definitely had a better experience this time and the quantity of food was to admired
Whether it's better than Atcha or the best etc, I'm not going to go there but I would visit again as I would several of the others in Hua Hin

Anyone have the line ID of New Kwality?
Re: Indian restaurants in Hua Hin
I wouldn't bother Kwality is probably the worst Indian in Hua hin. Old fashioned, greasy brown mush! Not one of our party of 4 would go back again. Asha or Mukti are way better! That's only my opinion and that of my friends!
Enjoying 'Retirement'....So many jobs to do, I don't know how I ever had time to work!

Asha or Atcha? I've never heard of Asha. If not a typo, please tell us more.

Strange that a lot of curry fans here recommend it then.
I ate a lot of Indian and Pakistani restaurant food in the UAE over 12 years, cooked for people of the Subcontinent. It was invariably brown or sometimes green, except when served in an upmarket hotel restaurant for westerners. Don't knock brown!

Wonder how SnR and SnS are related?thecolonel wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2024 4:20 amSomeone told me they thought it was called S & P and I told them I very much doubt itBubba1 wrote:Yea it’s called SnR Indian Food. Re: Indian restaurants in Hua Hin
Well guys, we've just tried SnR Indian Food this evening, and I think the 3 of us all agreed, we have a new favourite (taste wise) Indian Restaurant in Hua Hin. I will qualify that statement by saying I've never tried some of the more expensive options such as Mukti. Flavour wise, it certainly exceeded previous favourites such as Shiva and Atcha, and I would certainly recommend giving it a try.
We had papadoms, vegetable samosa and onion bhajis to start. Main course was butter chicken, fish & vegetable masala and red chili lamb. Rice was a bowl of yellow and a bowl of basmati - they advised us against ordering a 3rd bowl because it would be too much. We also had a garlic nan. Drinks were 2 cokes, 2 soda waters and 1 water.
It was probably amongst the cheapest in town at 1,541฿.
One thing that surprised me, in fact shocked me is my son and I overheard the chef saying he had worked in S&S for a long time. I was shocked because after a very bad experience in S&S a long time ago, I vowed never to eat their food again. I must say, I must have shot myself in the foot, because tonight's Indian was amongst the best I've tasted.
A special shout out to the red chili lamb, which I had never come across before, but it was a fantastic flavour.

Good news, on my list to try
From a cursory look from outside I wish they spent a bit more on fit out but the food is most important thing

Re: Indian restaurants in Hua Hin
You can’t always go by looks but from the photos the onion bhajis look good - the naan not so good, but I’ll give it a try based on the overall verdict.
