To prevent the spread of Omicron, the Thai health ministry announced the ban on arrivals from 8 countries including South Africa, Lesotho, Botswana, Eswatini, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Namibia and Malawi.

That's nice, in the evenings the tourists can sit in their hotel rooms and watch reruns on the telly.

With all the restrictions and rules to enter, I don't understand why anyone wants to come to Thailand at this time. What is the attraction?

Considering the news today with cases of the virus within Europe, the UK and I believe Australia, that's not going to cut it. Omicron seems to spread ridiculously quickly, I just hope the effects, hospitalisations etc. are not any worse than we've seen with other strains and most importantly current vaccines are still effective!

It's not good news..... :(
