Today's standout is Si Sa Ket in the northeast that went from 77 to 548 in one day. Large clusters, many illegal border crossers, or both? :(

Different day, different stats. Nothing seems to match. Where is Si Sa Ket on this list?

Not criticising any posters, but it's just me. If I see a stat, I like to confirm it. When Thailand is involved, nothing seems to add up :banghead:

I'm making an educated guess that it could be an accumulation of positive ATK tests, taken on different days/weeks, but once lab confirmed lumped into that one daily stat. The big number for Ratchaburi wasn't on a separate chart yesterday as a weekend, but that very well could have been the same thing.

This is Thailand to a T - blaming the evil foreigners for covid ...

Foreigners 'not wearing masks, partying'
Many foreign visitors are not wearing face masks and gather in groups in violation of Covid-19 disease control regulations, and will be prosecuted if they fail to comply, a government spokesman warned on Monday

Apisamai Srirangson, a spokeswoman for the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration, said visitors from many countries arrived for business meetings in sandbox provinces.

Provincial representatives told the CCSA that not only did these visitors fail to wear face masks at meetings, they also gathered for parties without masks and caused Covid-19 transmission, Dr Apisamai said.

She did not explain these transmissions.

Hotel staff warned them they had to follow the rules, she said.

Dr Apisamai said the Communicable Disease Act required people to wear face masks in public places and also while at gatherings. Repeated violation carried a fine of up to 20,000 baht, she said.

"Visitors must comply, or they will be prosecuted," Dr Apisamai said.

How dare they ... coming to Thailand and partying ... fine them all!

For fair and balanced journalism the Post needs to round that article off with: "However, the government spokeswomen failed to acknowledge that most covid in Thailand is disseminated through undocumented migrants and worker camps, factories, and prisons and in fact has absolutely nothing to do with foreign visitors.
