I think Steve was probably having a laugh with the Chang comment, Buksi, but I confess I hadn't sussed the Singha connection - for some reason the word hasn't cropped up in conversation! So what's Leo then?
Spot on Buksi - but for me its usually 'nou' that comes first. (Don't see too many heffalumps around here, and very little Chang beer!) But this is over 3 years back in Neverland and Nou, chang etc are still stuck in there, while the colours are starting to fade.
BTW I found playing darts with Thais early days was the best way to learn numbers, and thay still stick. (Until 10,000 anyway. Thats a bummer.)
Two things, my first trip to thailand was to come to the Village wedding of my Scottish pal. They are now living back in Scotland and are frequent visitos to HH. They built a house out by tha Airport but back over the railwaytracks. He has no Thai at all and isn't intrested, Lazy B.
However he doesnt allow thai language, she has a daughter (thai)and thai girlfriends, spoken when he is in his home.
The other thing is that I have made an effort To learn Key phrases/greetings and these are normaly well recieved. However when in HH and out of my depth in the midst of thai femail coversation, to which your not party I usually find tha the odd "ah lieh na?" keeps them on their toes and wondering how much you understood.
