Yes, that is a problem, but what they need to avoid more is early evening kick-offs. Thais work long hours, and it is always evident that a kick-off earlier than 7pm, and crowds are much lower.

When I started supporting T1, kick-offs used to be 6pm, 7pm, 8pm and 9pm. These days they are often 5:30pm, 6pm, 6:30pm and 7pm. All to cater for TV schedules - fans on the terraces are secondary.

If there is a clash with a big premiership game, that could be shown live on the scoreboard after the game if they thought there was demand. Beer is cheap/plentiful at matches.

Indeed, and if someone in a photo of a Move Forward Party meeting was smoking a cigarette, they would ban the party for corrupting minors.

I fully understand where you're coming from, and I think we concur that many Thai laws are applied wherever they suit. However, on the same theme as I've been discussing with caller over the last few days, Thai football does need the sponsorship cash. I think every Thai football league team receives some sort of backing from a brewery company. If the law was applied to the letter, I think we could say goodbye to professional football in Thailand, and many other sports.
