Single Malt?

Restaurants, food, beverage, hawkers, and local markets and suppliers. This is the place for discussion on Hua Hin's culinary options.

Scotch egg/Scotch whisky

Post by Ken »

Thought I would reply about whisky but first have to mention scotch eggs.
Going to get some for Hua Hin pool presentations at Crawfords. We had some at last presentation and they disappeared fast. Unhealthy as anything = very very tasty!! I love them.
Not much single malt in Thailand but Glenfiddich single malt (12 years old) is available most places. My personal favourite is 10 year old Glenmorangie which I take back every time I am home. There are probably a few more malts available in Bangkok.
The UK tax on whisky is criminal. 100 Pipers here is out of the Chivas Regal stable, blended and bottled in Keith, Scotland and as Guess says available for around 330 baht and in the UK at about 900 baht. Have met quite a few whisky experts in my time.......mostly Swedes!!
Bottom line is you drink what you like and with what you like. I like it straight - no water, no ice, no coke. Never tried it with a scotch egg. Yet!!
