If a few weeks ago I had predicted that the USA would finish above England at the end of the preliminaries, I would have had fruit thrown at me such as :duck: :D . I also would have been a rich man if I bet on that outcome. :( Pete

The bookies were pretty safe with that one, nobody even here in the USA thought this would happen! Heck, most people didn't even think we make it out of the preliminaries. If we beat Ghana there will be a national holiday here!

And ...........

When England have beaten Germany :duck:
They have to play Argentina or Mexico :banghead:

Still we can proudly say that - no matter what - we went home AFTER France and Italy

And .............

What's the problem? If you're the best in the world, there is nothing to worry about.

If through some unforseen mishap England go home early, then never mind. I support Plymouth so I'm well used to disappointment. It's only 4 years until the next opportunity.
Championship Plymouth Argyle 1 - 2 Leeds Utd

Points 46; Position 23 RELEGATED

Understood BB - understood

As a Spurs supporter I too am used to disappointment until this season came along. 8)

A mate of mine is a lifelong Pompey supporter and he was almost tempted to top himself.

But he's very proud of David James - let's hope he continues to be

Well I'm a Leeds supporter through and through having watched them for 40 odd years.

The collapse (due to the management) some years ago was hard to bare but we are now on the up and hopefully former glory before they either put me to the stake here or box me up and send me home

Just received this in an email to me

"The World Cup is like WWII, first the French surrender early, followed by the Italians, the US join in at the last minute and we are left to fight the Germans!"

:lach: :lach: :lach:

Guess the next will be a Falklands war !!!!

They were my childhood favorite team growing up behind the Iron Curtain, I still remember almost the full lineup: Stapney, Medley, Brenner, Hunter, Lorimer, Jones, Giles, Gray. (Cant' remember the other three defenders, but hey, that was 40 or so years ago!
