Yes, I second Lomu's prediction. I've been here seven Mays now and that time of year we don't usually have long rains but passing showers almost daily in the afternoons, but it is usually the hottest month of the year.

Thanks for replies fellas - have booked up for the end of May - a cracking deal with Etihad!

On another note, if all questions to do with the weather are being moved here by the mods (as my post was) shouldn't the title of this thread also be changed to simply 'Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand' rather than 'Current Weather in Hua Hin & Thailand?' The reason I started a new thread was because my question is about weather in May and not the weather now.

This is not a complaint btw, just a suggestion to make it easier for people to relocate threads/posts that have been moved.

Cheers & roll on May,

Jaime

As an FYI, we got 1/2 inch of rain yesterday morning at this time. Afternoons are now showing clouds and thunderheads off to the east, a pattern not usually seen starting until late April, early May. Fine with me if we get an early rainy season to clean the air and stop all the farmers from burning brush. :cuss: Early rains would be good your side as well to help with your water shortages. Keep your fingers crossed. Pete

EDIT: Forgot to mention, it also caused a termite swarm which is extremely early to happen.

You're an early riser Pete. You should take up golf as early mornings are the best (coolest) time to play.

I am not in Hua Hin PB, but over in Rayong, as my avatar indicates, but in Thai. Kind of a hint when I refer to HH as "over there", or "you guys may see it tonight or tomorrow..." Pete

Rained overnight in Bangkok as well. A lot of black clouds about this morning, but no more rain up until I left around 9-00 am.

Pete, I don't think the weather pattern this time of year brings us anything across the bay. It must go north to Bangkok. In all the years I've been here I only remember one rain in the winter months (December) here as it is usually bone dry from November to mid April.

I'm still wringing out things and cleaning up the mess. It got real nasty yesterday for about 3 hours. We ran into some Thai friends at a restaurant last evening who live in Rayong City and they told us water was knee level and Sukhumvit was not passable for normal cars for hours.

I was watching the storm on this : http://www2.tmd.go.th/radar/rygLoop.php ,and at about 1700 hours it was halfway across the gulf towards you and fizzled into nothing. Never went further after that. Pete

It rained twice this December HHF, as you said though, I can't remember another at that time of year.
